I'm a black metal musican and I have listened to it since I was a teenager in the 90s; I don't know what it means anymore. Varg released those albums when he was in his early 20s and the scene was about murder, Satanism, and chaos. It's very much not like that anymore; it's splintered into so many different styles and philosophies that most black metal is probably not black metal.

What's your favorite singer? My favorites are Ronnie James Dio from Black Sabbath and Simone Simons from Epica. Honorable mention to Cristina Scabbia.

I don't have favourite singers but besides Scabbia, I would choose Tarja, former singer of Nightwish even though the new one and former singer of After Forever is awesome too.
