No the venom symbiote went to a crippled Flash Thompson. Readers may remember Flash as the bully who used to beat Peter up in High-school. Well he lost his legs in the military and was given the Symbiote which when active (somehow) returns his legs and makes him a gun-totting symbiote user who has to keep the REAL Venom(picturede above) in check.
His suit doesn't look like Brock's Venom because that is pure Venom, Flash wears his as an enhancing suit but on a couple of occassions Venom has gotten free and rampaged, which almost caused the gov't Flash works for to kill him fearing he couldn't control Venom.
