Well it doesen't work that way.
You just can't compare Simpsons with a "new comer" Family Guy.
Simpsons have been on the tube for ages and they will be. Every joke is done by them already and every other show barely can come up with anything new.
Family Guy is good, I like it my self but it can never beat Simpsons.
And this is all in a nutshell even.

pretty much, the new eps of family guy are half songs now so that way they can kill minutes.
