Is the fairytail anime cancelled or postponed? I heard tha it was because of the person who voices Lucy lost her voice? How long is it going to take until they start the anime again? A year or more?

In television scheduling, a hiatus refers to a break of at least several weeks in the normal schedule of a broadcast programming.

The manga need to go farther ahead before they could start back up.

The Anime is currently posponed for now.

Aparantly there was some scandal that gave Lucy's Voice Actor some bad wrap. So they are doing re-runs of the series, and if enough people still watch it, then when the Manga manages to get further away from the anime, they will pick it back up.

I think it is a lot like what's happening with Bleach.

they really needed to stop the anime, at this point, they can't simply put a filler arc in between the summer games, and the manga is like just 10 chapters ahead of anime.

Yeah on hiatus until further notice at least we got to see a good fight at the end! Good way to go out for the meantime. Who knows the reason might be at this stage, nothings been said about why.

I hope there is some news on this in the next few months though.

Yeah I think the decision to go on hiatus might have been made quickly so hence why the last episode 175 seemed incomplete. That's the impression I got any way.

It came too close to the manga, and a Filler arc at the moment would not fit well. It needs to let the manga advance at least 7 months or a year, before the anime can resume. The more the manga advances the better.

I also heard that the voice actor for Lucy has quit her voice acting career, so I dunno what they're going to do about that.
