Why not? The main battles of Irene, August etc. lasted for about 8 chapters in total, and Acnologia´s battle has been going on for the last 10 chapters, adding a handful of chapters for the final seems reasonable to me...

If Acnologia didn't come back and fight all Fairy Tail, this is tragedy. Even if Acnologia fought them (which we may consider as Round 2), he'll be defeated by the power of not only friendship, but also by the power of love.

So pick your poison:
- a) Close the case that Acnologia was defeated by Ichiya
- b) Acnologia will be defeated by friendship and love by FT guild

Acnologia will sue Mashima at the court of manga.
