Nah gajeel is. Gray in the GMG arc was not even close to their power, he only got a upgrade at torators where it was needed because they were fighting actual demons. Plus, natsu competes with gajeel and compares their power more often than he does with gray who he treats as a sbiling. Plus gajeel was his opponent at one point.
He did fight back, hence natsu was injured and had a permanent scar on his cheek, it's just that he let himself take the last attack

Another theory about Irene's power: Either Past Manipulation, or Story Manipulation, depending on whether the black and white angels is true or not. If it's tru(which I doubt) then Irene used time travel or something to ensure the Black Angel won. If it's a story, she changed the story so the black Angel won, and reality changed itself to fit the story.
And really, what power could be better for Erza's mom, than the ability to freely manipulate the plot.
Hmm the title was, sure a misleading one. The monstrous six, just when we peeps thought that the title was referring to the reaming $priggan 12 members, but actually it was indicating the six monstrous of fairy tail... XD

Ehh I'm pretty sure it has always been the sacred mountain. I remember it because I thought that mountain might be relevant somehow someday to the story when it was first mentioned.
And in regards to the story of the two angels, I find it peculiar that the word "certain" is used. This might simply be the translator, however if Irene's point was to just randomly tell a local legend she could have just said that they were fighting over a man. The fact that she's talking about a certain man, gives the impression that this man is relevant/important. I mean two angels, a sacred mountain...it would be fitting if they would have been fighting over END, the king of demons. Or maybe Acnologia, the dragon of the Apocalypse, it's the spot were Gildarts first encountered him after all and thus might have a special meaning to him.
Yeah. So far I have observed all the translators translated 'that' as Zonia, the sacred Mountain. I saw 'ieatmanga' scanlation (Apparently they are the first FT scanlation group). And now in this chapter, MS translated it has Sacred Mountain too where as in CR trans.(Vol.20), it has been translated has "Haunted Peak, Zonia." Wait....lemme search for the raw of chapter 166......

This Part 霊峰ゾニア which literally/more often means "Sacred Mountain, Zonia". I'll break this into parts......
This ゾニア means 'Zonia'. There is no confusion in it. The kanji in Japanese are confusing at some parts. lol no tbh at all times. This part '霊峰' if it is written like that then it should mean as 'Sacred Mountain'. But each of those two Kanji's has two different meanings, one of which means means Sacred(霊) and the latter means Peak(峰). But the first kanji '霊'(Rei) when read separately also means 'Ghost, Soul(dead one), Spirit etc.,'. There are many meanings all depends on the overall context.
I guess it is to each their own translation depending on how the context sounds. I do stick with 'Sacred Mountain, Zonia' rather than Haunted Peak, Zonia. I hope CR clears it out tmrw.
I think Anna and someone fought for Acnologia?. Or some two angels fought for END?. I think Mashima is hinting that Juliet Sun and Hynch Lunacy will fight in future for someone?. Maybe this time for Gajeel?!. I think you already noticed it, Juliet is White angel and has a 'Sun' in her name. And Hynch has 'Lunacy' in her name which I think means 'Moon'. White and Black. Sun and Moon. Day and Night. Goood concept, right?.

I think there is going to be a chapter of talk between August and Brandish when they meet for negotiations. I think negotiations don't go well and Natsu, Lucy, Brandish and Happy will team-up to defeat August. It might go something like that. Or Natsu & Co. gets defeated and then Mavis might comes into play. Hmm....thinking about this scenario, there are more than two possible outcomes depending on how Mashima wants it to happen!.

Also - Do they not have any form of long distance communication in FT? I can't remember. It just seems pretty stupid that Gildarts isn't around for essentially the most important war that will ever take place. I mean, they are supposed to be a family that have each other's backs, but Gildarts is just a straight up letdown, talk about selfish!
