I don't think this is going to be Natsu and Zeref's final battle, at the very least he can't go down until Mavis or Acnologia show up.

Final battle no, but I suspect this the last fight between them before we get to the END arc or whatever happens. A rematch between Natsu and Zeref won't be until after the END thing is resolved or the Acnologia arc.

So I think this fight will be long enough to cover the war.
