lovely chapter and it really does look like Gajeel and Levy had some fun. Please don't kill Juvia, Gray has lost enough people already. Makarov maybe(he's old enough so it might be time for him to go).

lol. XD. I agree kill Makarov but no other. If Mashima kills Juvia then without a doubt Gray will really become evil....smh. And I don't think Mashima will kill GrayXJuvia(basically by killing Juvia) and thus angering the Gruvia fanbase.
I've been patiently waiting for that Mira's shining moment. If sky is the battlefield for round 1, I ship for Mira to be on the starting 5 of FT (DS Natsu, Gajeel, Wendy, and Laxus + Mira)
other DS has exceeds so flying wont be an issue.
so Mira is Laxus, exceed? Why not!?

They will all come. I think Sabretooth will be the first one or the last one.
Nah it will be like Naruto.
Both Natsu and Gray fights Zeref, his monsters, his army together and at the end Gray challenges Natsu to fight till end.

This week's Chapter cover featured Happy, The Blue Cat. We can see Happy riding the bicycle of his size and the little chickens running behind them in the Magnolia streets. On right side in the image, there is a painting of Coffee/tea with a name on it which is hard to decipher. Anyway, somewhat a different and new chapter cover we got compared last few ones.

This week's chapter started with Mavis, as a fairy watching over the Magnolia and Lucy writing all the events that happened till now in the book while recollecting about what they all discussed in the Guild in last chapter. Mavis appearance in this chapter is something that is unexpected. Taking the account of what happened to her and how she is appearing after her death, she looks like a real fairy.

As Lucy is narrating the story that happened so far into the book, Natsu & Happy suddenly barge in like always and starts embarrassing Lucy. She kicks chair towards them which they dodged easily. It is also mentioned that the people in Magnolia are evacuated to a safer place. Natsu & Happy says they came to Lucy to share fun and play games before the Battle begins. She says no with a swift reply and mentions that they are leaving tomorrow for enemy's projected landing point. Lucy clears that she wasn't interested about the upcoming battle. Natsu then says that he wasn't either. Natsu then added, he likes pitting his strength against someone who was stronger but he was not into killing people. That is self-explainable from the actions Natsu took since he was introduced and even how he asks Laxus, Erza, Gray, Gildarts to fight him. All he want is to show his strength but he acknowledges this is time it is different.

Natsu then says that he plans to do something when the battle is over. To which Lucy replied that a person will die if he fantasize about how happy their future will be after the war. And Natsu calls it a load of swill and then talks about what he learned from Igneel. And then when Natsu asks for playing a game, Happy tells to play Strip-poker and Lucy makes fun of Happy. While Natsu and Lucy are enjoying themselves like that, the scene changes towards Erza and Wendy who are in Hot-springs. Upon asked by wendy whether CS will be helping us or not, Erza says that she thinks so since the one we are about to fight is Zeref himself. And the both of them starts reminiscing about how Cait-shelter was destroyed and how Erza asked Wendy to join FT guild. We can see Erza being so determined to save Wendy & Carla. Wendy then hugs Erza and says that it is her time to protect Erza. Was this the possible foreshadowing about what to happen?. I likely guess so.

And then the scene shifted towards Gray and Juvia, while Mavis as a fairy, watching over all of them. Gray offers the half-eaten chocolate to Juvia for which Juvia became so flushed.

now in this chapter Gray says that Juvia will have her answer when the battle is over. That is a nice reference. Gray also thanks Juvia for being his side for all along till now. Gray says that he has a secret of his own too just like Natsu. While observing all of that far in the sky, Mavis became so happy and she moved towards the main base of the Guild where she met Makarov & others.

While Makarov and others are trying to locate the enemy's fleet through a radar, Mavis appeared. She says that everyone is calm and composed before the battle starts. Makarov then replies that is not the case, since all they doing was being together with each other so that they can let off the panic and uneasiness in themselves. Makarov also addresses that it is natural for children to feel like that if their father is in fear about the Battle. The flow of dialogues in this chapter are very well written but however, the best dialogue of this chapter is Makarov saying the meaning of a 'Parent's role' thus justifying the title of this chapter. This is very well written.

I shouldn't talk about this in the review and analysis post but like everyone pointed out, it seems like Gajeel and Levy slept together. I am fairly certain by now everyone has noticed the 'star' shaped bed-sheet on both Gajeel and Levy's body. Though that might be or not a shared bed-sheet.

Mashima's foreshadows are like this sometimes if not always. Anyway guess we will find out the truth when the war ended.

While everything is going on like this in the Magnolia, Albareth fleet suddenly appeared. To everyone's surprise they came through the airships unlike on the land. And the one who led those ships are the Desert King, Ajeel Rommul that very same person who chased away FT from Albareth. Makarov says that is only a small part of their imperial forces. The sheer number of airships is 50.(I counted) This chapter ended with Ajeel commencing the Battle.

Final Verdict - Overall a Good chapter depicting what everyone's day is before the start of the unprecedented battle with a steady art & a well written flow of dialogues along with a few hinting & references and sudden twist in the narration at the end of the chapter.
Regarding next chapter.....it is titled as "Dragon Flight Force and Misago Force.....". Misago(ミサゴ) means Osprey which might be referring to Albareth troops and Dragon Flight Force might be referring to Dragon Slayers. That is all this time, next time in next week.
