Great chapter, i thought that we where going to see what was under those bandages,and we got to see Acnologia again. Can't wait to see the real Dragon King Festival begin, this chapter kind of feels like beginning of the last arc.

Yea, he was ranked first in the ten saint wizards. He's also one of the four heavenly kings of ishgar and mentioned a lot during the arc. I think he's a double agent.

I have the feeling that 1v1s won't happen. This will be an all out royal rumble which will be epic, but the chance are aconologia will come and bomb the shit out of the weaklings first and then the survives may go on 1v1s.

Invel vs gray(hinted in today's chapter)
zeref vs LFD Dragon force natsu(clear as a day)
Aconologia vs ISD Dragon Force gajeel(if natsu vs zeref is going to happen, then this isn't far fetched imo, aconologia will only fight a dragons slayer and that is either natsu or gajeel, natsu will be half dead fighting zeref and thus the only option for now is gajeel. Portrayal wise that is) Wendy and the rest may all gang up on him as well, dunno :lol
God serena vs Jella(very suiting imo)
brandish vs erza(erza might fight dimaria as well)
Gildarts vs agust
Ajeel vs Sting/rough

What bugs me though is the rather meaningless motivation Acnologia has. I mean he's practically the last dragon, so what point is there to call yourself the King of Dragons if you're the only dragon ~_~ I hope there's a more deeper meaning to it.

The Winter General is probably connected to Ur or something. So far all ice mages could be traced back to Ur and Gray.

I think he holds onto it out of arrogance. On top of that for someone who hates humanity but has to suffer as part of it, it could simply be an attempt to convince himself of being more than just human. Other than that I don't think he has any deeper intentions, he seems too much of a savage.

I don't think that new power of natsu can defeat zeref. He will use his new power on Zeref and will find out that this is useless against him so in the end he will defeat with his old nakamA power and the dragon slayers of FT will dragonize to fight with acno. And I think one of them will die which will make natsu go nuts and his drogonification will take place and acno. Will also die

This pretty much buries the Serena = Yuri theory. Makarov met Serena and it would be getting ridiculous if he can't even recognize his own father. Well given Makarov never really knew his father personally as he died while Makarov was 5 years old or something, but he still should know how he looks.
