Hmmm, the first chapter was a bit too much with the fan service but the lightheartedness was nice.
Also, I liked seeing Warrod Cken for the first time and I found his flashback to be moving and certainly, interesting.
The best thing about these chapters though is that it seems Mashima is going back to FT's roots; what with all the quests.

So much jokes in these chapters. When Walrot said 'turn right', Happy was the only one who turned left xd Loved the Rave Master reference too.
And lmao at the discussion that started to rise about Oda and Hiro having a war with each other by making subtle references to each other mangas

Loved this chapters, only began reading/watching Fairy Tail last week and I've already seen all the available episodes and most of the manga's chapters...
Felling quite happy 'cause I watched episode 175 of Fairy Tail anime last night and, apparently, they will continue the anime soon, so I won't have to wait long! =D
The part with Natsu and Gray punching Erza made think: "They're gonna be killed now". So much fun I'm having with these series... eheh

341 - 4/5, I like fan service as much as the next person but it went pretty overboard on on it. Still a good chapter. Best part was when Lucy was sitting cross legged in the bath with her hands in her lap, Her FT tattoo is the perfect shape, a little well groomed triangle, so that when you look quick it is in the perfect place for..... you know what I mean...... lol'd at that for a while.

342 - 6/5, best chapter in a very very long time, finally learned something about those 4 gods. And some history of the whole world. Walrot is definately just being modest, He may be telling the truth now about how he isn't really that strong, but in his prime, he probably was.
If we just guess the 4 of them are 20 years old in that picture then that makes him 126 years old now. I think he developed some sort of life expansion magic, ie turned himself into a tree as trees live longer than humans And Hades lived to 119, that is pretty dam old
I have doubts that that middle person is in fact Hades. If I am wrong and that person is in fact Hades, Hades lived to 119 and Walrot 126? given how long the two of them lived it is possible that that 4th person is still alive. If he was Makarov's father he would likely still have some sort of connection to the current Fairy Tail. And Makarov would know much more about the creation of Fairy Tail, having direct contact with 2/4 of them. In that case Mavis must have died extremely young,, even before Makarov entered FT because he didn't even know her nickname as the tactician right away during the GMG finals. Which is why I doubt he is his father, although I admit they do have similar appearance.
I think there is a whole new generation in between those 4 people and the 2nd and 3rd masters.
My mind went to that 4th person being the creator of Lumen Histoire. Given we now know that the 1st and 2nd are (potentially) the same age, they both might have had something to do with its creation and Walrot as well.
Sorry for rambling, the whole chronology is kind of mixed up, Just look at the appearance of Team Makarov now, specifically Rob and Yamajine. hopefully we learn some more soon.

343 - 4/5 youre standard new arc chapter, introduce the protagonists, and antagonists for the arc. glad to see where Minerva ended up, still a cocky biotch. I'm assuming Natsu will try to eat the flame at some point.

That was makarov it's very apparent. He looks younger then hades by a few years. But that pic makes no sense as makarov was shown in a pic with porlyusica and rob when younger at the fairytail guild so maybe it was makarovs father.

It's definitely not Makarov. Before the seven year time-skip, Makarov flashed back 48 years and stated he was 40 then.
48 + 40 + 7 = 95, which is how old he should be, however, that's still 10 years shy of when Cken recalled his memory.
Just look at their flashbacks:

Their appearances don't really even look remotely similar, barring the difference in age.

no he isn't Makarov. he was young when he joined FT... check the links under. look at how old the 2nd master while Makarov is still around 20-30. that guy is most probably his father or grandfather.
I didn't say he was him, I had doubt he is even his father, maybe someone else entirely or his grandfather. The life expectancy of some of these people is pretty incredible, given Walrot, Makarov, Rob, Yamiji all look the same age but Walrot is obviously much older than the them.
In Makarov's flashback Hades didn't look old enough to be of the same age as Makarov's father, that's why that middle person might not even be Hades.

FT is just brilliant, so stoked for the anime come back too, all the latest chapters where damn good showing everything about FT life, for me this is the best manga out there for drawing out all kinds of emotions you can really connect with.
Minerva will get a beat down no sweat, will Natsu really be strong enough to kill Zeref? and then what about Acnologia??? XD oh and who are the other group following Natsu's and the Treasure Hunters! Interesting times ahead as always with Fairy Tail and time I anticipate greatly!
