I'm still remembering the part when Makarov was about to die when he first fought Hades and said something along the lines of, "Reach out, the one who will inherit my will," and then a picture of Laxus showed up. So it sounds like he's supposed to be the next in line (I would say maybe Gildarts, but I don't think he would give up all of the travelling and stuff that he does). But I still have my doubts about that considering that he's not even a member right now. But then again, there's no one else who's really fit to replace Makarov at the moment. =/ Most of the guild's strongest members are too young, the closest person that I could think would be Mirajane perhaps. =/ Assuming that she doesn't go back to taking up S-class missions.Anybody wanna place bets on who is gonna be the next guild master for Fairy Tail?

I don't think Gildarts is gonna be traveling too much more due to his daughter being in the guild now. That can really affect him because he may want to be there for her and the best way is to be close to her while in the guild. He also isn't as strong as he used to be apparently due to his body being torn apart by Acnologia. I think he may be spending more time in the Fairy Tail guild now. I don't think Laxus is ready to go back to Fairy Tail, he still has his problems with Iwan Drayer and still trying to find himself. He can't seem to decide whether or not he should join back with Fairy Tail.
He's gonna fight the dragon O_O I hope.... What if the dragon wasn't actually a dragon but another demon that Zeref created? >_O

I do, now that he has a daughter. Mirajane is NASTY. I'm Scared. lol. Beastman may be a threat now also.
That's more of a reason for him to become master than it is one for not becoming master. If he's master he's not going anymore on long missions. With other words he can spend more time with Cana. Also I don't see someone like Gildartz saying to Laxus master, Laxus isn't even a member atm.
What you say is true, but my reasoning was that his interests would be leaned towards watching and protecting Cana more than the ENTIRE village. Despite guild/friend ties, nothing is stronger than blood. I'd be too concerned with getting my daughter to safety if not destroying whoever it was than I would be making sure that Natsu had enough energy to fight. :shrug:
