I'm still not digging the artwork. It feels too unfamiliar with the regular FT artwork and hence it's difficult to consider this canon.

The story is progressing at a steady rate though, the entire egg thing only lasted around two normal chapters and now a new foe has popped up, unless they would be somehow connected.

Normally there shouldn't be any interaction with Lyon as this is the story of Gray after everything with Deliora and Ur already happened up to the point he joins Fairy Tail. It doesn't make any sense for Gray to meet Lyon here and then afterwards again on Garuna Island.
