Yeah Igneel raised a lot of death flags but I wasn't expecting it because Hiro kills characters rarely(be it in FT or Rave or his one-shots), so if Igneel dies and isn't revived that would be a surprise.

Igneel was never close to Acnologia and either one of them had to die. Maybe I watched AGK and many other mangas and hence killing one character doesn't mean anything to me these days.

About How strong the strength of Igneel.....Speculation

"We all know that Igneel and END fought 400 years ago.I assume that the scars on Igneel's Body is due to his fight against END.See this Little interaction Natsu and Zeref had in chapter 372.

In that chapter Zeref clearly stated that Igneel was unable kill END.It is not like Igneel can't kill END but rather didn't kill END 400 years when they fought may be for some reason but got END sealed back into the Book with the help of ward(layla?),right?.Meaning Igneel can kill END if he was serious enough 400 years ago?.Isn't that kind of implying that Igneel is stronger than END ?

Did I interpret the situation way too much ? XD

I have no qualms with it I was just hoping it will trigger a bigger event and be more heroic, probably after this Natsu will become then END or berserk kill Acnologia.

ah, sorry, should've quoted/highlighted what i was referring to.

i interpreted it as igneel stating the 2 reasons they hid inside the dragon slayers and after stating the latter reason, (to give the DS'ers the force/Power for defeating Acnologia), he proceeds to rip off acnologia's arm. implying that it plays a role in their power up.
