Itachi pretty much told Naruto how he wouldn't be a Hokage. Just go read chapter 552, you don't get acknowledged once you become Hokage, you become Hokage when the villagers acknowledge you as one and he wasn't shown to be acknowledged in that way, only for being an Uchiha and Anbu

. He also said how when a person becomes to strong, they can forget about others and become aggogrant and attached to their ego. He goes on to say if you do things alone that you'll fail. He admit that that's what he did, tried to do everything himself. He laters tell Sasuke that he should have include him instead of doing it himself because Sasuke might have been able to change their parents and clan minds.

All if the other Hokages worked with others and were acknowledged by the everyone. Madara, Tobi, Nagato, Akatsuki were all affected by the cycle of hate, it wasn't anyone's fault but theirs. For Madara, the lost of his brothers, Hashirama and Tobirama lost brothers as well. Obito, not the only one to lose a loved one. Nagato, wasn't the only one to lose parents and his best friend. Same as for Akatsuki.

itachi became a violent sociopath who slaughtered his entire clan even though a good percentage were innocent children.
so no i wouldnt want him for hokage. the other hokages are questionable at best but they wouldnt ever torture a child just to be a di ckhole.

itachi wants konoha to rule over everyone else with an iron fist. no one else matters and if you leave he will brainwash you and force you to go back.

itachi is the most cruel and selfish villain in the series, or close to it. so evil and so sociopathic that he brutally tortured a screaming innocent child, beat him to an inch of his life and told him he should murder his friends for power without any remorse for the consequences. as well as his abiltity to butcher an entire clan of people based on the orders of a scary old man who just wants power, and is willing to even kill children for a corrupt government without ever questioning them.
he sat back and watched as akatsuki, orochimaru, danzo and sasuke wrecked a path of destruction across the entire world, doing nothing at all to even slow them down. so selfish and so indecisive that he would have let kisame cut narutos legs off. again a screaming innocent defenceless boy and itachi wants to cause them pain.
perfect spy huh? so what exactly did konoha know about akatsuki? did they know they had a rinnegan? no. hell they didnt even know kisame had a sword that shivs chakra. kind of important intel eh?

he killed his clan to stop a war that would without a doubt have tons of casualties and almost definitely would cause the other villages to invade the leaf due to the loss in power which would of had them taken over, its not an easy decision but itachi did what he had to.

which could be accomplished without killing ALL of the clan. im sure at least some of those dead bodies were children.
how can you make peace on a foundation of blood and murder? you cant. violence makes more violence. the best plan would have been to let shisui do what he said he was gonna do. but no, itachi just lets him rip his eye out for no real reason.
also whats your evidence any other nation would attack them? there isnt any. they would have minded their own business just like every other time konoha had an internal disaster or attack.

he pick 1000 people to save and like 40 to kill. the guy was a hero.

so butchering innocent children and then torturing the survivor makes you a hero? ok. maybe i should travel back in time, kill your family and torture you. then you would run up and hug me because thats just so fukin heroic!
also yes doing something like that is necessary and saved lives. but its not heroic and every action he undertook afterwards killed more pople than it saved. way more! they have an entire clan devoted to spying and intel gathering and who do they send? itachi. who did nothing for 10 years and couldnt even tell konoha that kisame has a shivving sword.

if you mean in terms of butchering innocent people, torturing children, being the worst spy in history and telling no one anything, and doing nothing about major global threats for 10 years then yeah he would be a good one.

Minato had no friends. Obito isn't/wasn't his fault. Kakashi was their leader...even Minato's.

not naruto who did most of the work? not J-man who did everything he possibly could to stop the akatsukis when they were still not that powerful? unlike itachi who sat back and let akatsuki get this far without doing a single thing to help? itachi is part of the problem, hes that yes-man soldier who not only obeys corrupt old men, he actually betrays and tries to murder regular innocent guys like kakashi and the jins. we dont need a yes-man soldier who supports genocide around. we need someone who can expose those corrupt old ass holes and put them in jail for war crimes. we need someone who can properly spy on others and get useful intel. we need someone who doesnt torture children.
then the world will be a little safer. without itachi in it to spread chaos
