Upon witnessing Sasuke's sharingan, Kisame says this the second time he's ever seen one.

But we all know that this should have been at least his 3rd time seeing it, as shown by the scan below:

What's the reason for this? A retcon? Was he under Tobidara's genjutsu? Did he forget?

If he said third time, Itachi would of been suspicious.
This makes sense. Makes you wonder how much Itachi knew about what Kisame knew about "Madara" and vice versa.

This makes sense. Makes you wonder how much Itachi knew about what Kisame knew about "Madara" and vice versa.
From their interactions, it seemed like Itachi was always on guard with Kisame and vice versa. They probably never trusted each other fully, but had to anyway because they were 'team mates'.

I think their relationship was unique and interesting.
