Maybe it's because the main audience isn't the people who grew with the Classic Naruto. Now the targets are toddlers and kids.And then they are possibly create Boruto as a teenager when these toddlers grow up.

i mean ibiki's test is for becoming chunin, and this test is for becoming genin....

Be real. Naruto genin exam was easy as fck. Perform the clone jutsu. Not even shadow clone. Just clone. Yet his ass failed 3 times. Whereas boruto has to deal with a written exam comparable to the chunin exam(i.e they want u to cheat), and the bell test.

Just to become genin, yet its somehow easier.
