Itachi said it himself. Every jutsu has a weakness, including those of the sharingan. Sharingan is overpowered and central to the series, but it's not invincible. Taijutsu works on it, as does countless other jutsu with similar or even exceeding properties. It's implied Tobirama developed FTG for the sole purpose of bypassing the sharingan, and that was how he beat Izuna.

Great point. Sharingan is a double edged sword. Great power, at a great cost. However, EMS kind of ruined that weakness

Yeah. There's also the fact that Uchihas throughout the history always lost to Senju, i.e. Ashura/Hashirama. While I hold Itachi on pedestal, the Senju side actually has a lot more benefits in their arsenal of power than Uchihas do with their Doujutsu.
