and without naruto sasuke would be dead. sasuke protected them from it, naruto did the heavy liftingBut still without sasuke what would have happened?

No, I'm saying they just have different personalities, how did you even misunderstand? What was sasuke supposed to do cry with naruto
I don't care how many people get emotionally hurt over my comment, but to even grasp Sasuke's character one needs to have certain knowledge of Literature, especially Greek Classics and Aristotle's Poetics. If you are not well-read, your opinion is worthless to me and should be for everyone else. One can like any character, but to declare every character as a good character or God forbid it, great character without any literary merits behind it? Your opinion has little merit then.
Sasuke and Sasori don't even belong in this manga; their characters are that intricate and mature. NB needs to educate itself and then comment. Not surprising, given the kind of folks that throng this base.
Type one coherent paragraph explaining to me that Naruto ever developed beyond trying to establish his socialization status and to procure the Hokage seat and to save just about everyone. His one line, "people will live happily ever after" defines his entire character. Seriously, I challenge any Naruto fan. One decent paragraph justifying any of this.Sasuke's characterization has been mediocre at best since Five Kage Summit. Half this thread is nothing more than bias interpretation and bullshit, but I respect your opinion nonetheless. I find Naruto's superior.
naruto destroying hate and wanting to protect his friends (shippuden) has nothing to do with social statusGreat read. Too bad I cannot rep you at the moment. I'll just quote myself from another thread:

Naruto is capable of destroying an emotion?xDnaruto destroying hate and wanting to protect his friends (shippuden) has nothing to do with social status
But I thought it was for the purpose to make sasuke's character be more realisticHere's why I disagree:
Everytime something drastic happened, his personality completely changed and it was almost as if all the development he had prior was completely reset and he became a new character.
i.e: when he left the village, when he learned the truth about Itachi, when he talked to the dead Kage
I'm pretty sure majority of Sasuke fans haven't read Aristotle's poetics. He isn't even that much of an intricate character, there is a Sasuke and Naruto in MANY other manga. And the way he constantly changes is pretty bad, especially recently. Although, I do agree Sasuke is more interesting than Naruto.I don't care how many people get emotionally hurt over my comment, but to even grasp Sasuke's character one needs to have certain knowledge of Literature, especially Greek Classics and Aristotle's Poetics. When you really think about it, he only changed like twice. After Itachi's death, he tried to remain the same but he got too greedy with revenge, so he start to not give a **** and found pleasure in his power. Once he talked to the kages, he kinda went back to his old way, only do whatever it take to get rid of evil in the world. He a realistic character. So really this "constantly changes" is a serious stretch.I'm pretty sure majority of Sasuke fans haven't read Aristotle's poetics. Really? His pranks and the relentlessly petty efforts that people should see him screams otherwise. If peer approval is the THING on NB, then I pity every Naruto fan for their lackluster and horrendous choice in characters.naruto destroying hate and wanting to protect his friends (shippuden) has nothing to do with social status
I don't care who has read what. Since you haven't even read tragedies, how can you venture he isn't? How many people here have read Literature Criticism? How many have actually read Ezra Pound or Samuel Johnson or Alexander Pope etc criticism? One needs knowledge to decipher characters and stories.I'm pretty sure majority of Sasuke fans haven't read Aristotle's poetics. You respect my opinion and yet you call it bs. LolSasuke's characterization has been mediocre at best since Five Kage Summit. Half this thread is nothing more than bias interpretation and bullshit, but I respect your opinion nonetheless. I find Naruto's superior.
I guess you're right, still the way he changed his views on Itachi so quickly, and drastically. Also, making his goal to kill Itachi was pretty quick as well. When you really think about it, he only changed like twice. After Itachi's death, he tried to remain the same but he got too greedy with revenge, so he start to not give a **** and found pleasure in his power. to me it was annoying to have his character build up as the hate filled avenger bent of getting revenge to abandoning all of thatBut I thought it was for the purpose to make sasuke's character be more realistic
