Shakespeare once said that all the worlds a stage
Well when I was little I had stage fright.
I was shy and scared throughout the day
And terrified by night.
I had no confidence to interact
With the other players in the show
The costumes never fit me
Because I was unsure of my own role.
Was I to be the gallant knight?
That saved the maidens fair?
Or was I a devilish tricky sprite?
Or a rebel without a care?
As time went on, I became
More accustomed to the game
I learned the rules of how to play
The special tricks behind my trade.
For a true actor contains many roles
Based on what the audience wants to see
I have mastered all these roles
And these roles have slowly become me.
Some people have said that I've gained confidence
But this is such a lie
I merely try to please my audience
And show a confident guise
When they need a knight so strong and brave
I pick up my shield and sword
I'll grapple any foe and take
The devil by his horns
But when the curtain calls and my mask falls
A new one takes its place
