Using a puppet requires the above process to move the fingers that are connected to the puppet via chakra strings and it requires the puppet to be able to move also, so there is no difference between the two, only the fact that the puppet's "brain" in this case is the puppeteers hand movements.

Observing something isn't a mental reaction feat, not even sure how that makes any sense. Don't even know how her mental reactions here matter when we are talking physical, she needs to physically react to move her puppets and activate her arm shield. Unless you are telling me she stands there and doesn't move an inch to control her puppets.

Also, Please do know that when she pushed Sakura out of the way, that was NOT when she used her own arm to shield herself she used the puppets....

-Nagato was transferring his chakra to the Pain bodies to make them move.

-Madara shot those rods out and used them to disrupt Amaterasu (It being chakra) thus cancelling the jutsu.

Then again, the extent your willing to wank Iron Sand has already been shown so I'm not really surprised at any of the BS you spout anymore.

Amaterasu lights things on fire, on contact. If the jutsu wasn't disrupted and cancelled and had just tanked the arrow instead then the receivers would have been lit on fire, undamaged and intact, but still on fire as durability isn't going to magically make flame disappear off of the receiver.
