nothing short of PS is taking him down, as legged susanoos entire offense is absorbed, and can even be destroyed by nagatos large scale attacks

For one, I'm not getting why the 6pop are fighting Nagato when he controls them. But I'll digress. I think Itachi with the Totsuka Blade could defeat the 6pop fairly easily, assuming he had the info on them. Nagato would be a bit harder, Itachi would put up a fight but ultimately I'm afraid to say Nagato would win.

Itachi would have access to EMS final Susanoo which materializes into PS.

Given the fact that the only ability we saw from madara's EMS was Susanoo its very likely he attained PS from the combination of izuna's susanoo..They were equals afterall.

He can't win w/o PS. Nagato traps him inside CT and he has no way of getting out.
With PS he takes med diff. PS slashes cut the CT satellite in half.

W/o it he has no way of producing the firepower to counter CT.
