Recovery was good in on its own. Compared to SSLP, MMLP and TES, of course it pales in comparison.

I have no problem with Em's violent stuff. Kim, Criminal and Role Model are some of my favorite songs. I like TES more because it exemplified what rap was. Of all of Eminem's albums, it's the closest to poetry. Rap, after all, is supposed to be rhythm and poetry in its essence. Why do you think songs like Stan, Cleaning out my Closet, Marshall Mathers, Lose Yourself and Sing for the Moment were so acclaimed? It's because Eminem is at his best when he's Eminem and Marshall Mathers, not Slim Shady. Slim Shady just made him stand out so people saw the better music.

Snoop and Dre both turned their backs on real rap and joined in on mainstream shit. Incase you are caring for examples, Snoop is now called Snoop Lion and claims to have been rechristened by a Rastafarian priest. Furthermore, Snoop stated that rap is ready to accept gay hip hop artists. Dre isn't as bad as Snoop but he also turned to mainstream rap, but don't get me wrong he's on my greatest ever list.

Your point of Lamar being good doesn't mean anything. Whatever Snoop says now, in my opinion, is irrelevant. Dre works with Lamar, so he could just be saying this to make a few bucks, although compared to the rest of the rappers he's easily above average.

Yes you got me man, I made Lil wayne exist. What a genius, from having ones own distinct opinion on music, you can conclude that I am the reason Lil wayne existed. I wonder how this logic works but i'm simply going to disregard it as it is 'out of my reach'. I'm not living in the past at all, I simply 'listen' to rap from the past. Only because I favour rap from the past doesn't mean you can use this saying. I don't see why anyone wouldn't favour the rap from the past to be honest.

If you don't like what you hear on the radio then listen to some Underground rappers who are good. (Yea I know the thought of there being actual modern day rappers who are good blows your mind Lol). RA the rugged man, K rino, Diabolic, Vinnie paz, Killah priest..etc.. are all rappers who are probably better than any rapper you probably listen to.

I do know about the underground rap scene. However I still don't see comparison to be made with the old school rappers. Apart from Immortal Technique and Diabolic it's all half decent rap.
