He would have had to set him up the same way Momoshiki did and make him choose between saving the village or protecting himself. It's his only weakness. I think the whole Kawaki controversy is basically gonna be the Pain fight for Boruto. Naruto and Sauce conveniently out the way for Boruto to be acknowledged as a hero

You forgot the third and most realistic option, being nerfed to the max.
Also we don't know the circumstances of what happened and at this point a lot is possible so making dumb statements such as "Naruto lost/got killed" is pointless.
