To start off, Earth is probably the most abundant element out of the five due to us being surrounded by land everywhere. You can form the earth into any kind of structure whether it be defensive or offensive. It all mainly deals with how you shape it, and use it for your benefits. Due to the many forms that earth can take on such as: dirt, mud, or solid rock it all comes down to have you shape it for your needs. When it comes to elemental reactions, it is weak towards lightning due to the sheer cutting force of lightning is able to shred right through the earth. On the other hand, it is strong against water since it can absorb the components of water.

OK, what you just saw was your most basic version of Earth release. Molding your chakra, you change it's nature to that of earth, using chakra control you use it to send the molded chakra into the ground, and manipulate it into basic shapes like pillars, shields, or basic tools. As you can see, I wanted a nifty seat so I made one for myself. Why don't you try it out, or your gonna be standing for a while..

Sasori would start off by generating his chakra into the land a few inches away from him. Using his chakra control he then would have a small pillar of earth emerge from the ground. After the short pillar was created Sasori walked over towards it and sat down.

this next jutsu is very under used imo, using your doton chakra that you just learned to mold, use shape manipulation to turn it into a staff that can be used for melee attacks, or tossed at someone like a javelin with pretty decent accuracy. A variation lets you create several staffs and chuck them, but with less accuracy. However, you'll be using the first version for THIS! Defend yourself or suffer the consequences!..

After listening carefully to what his Sensei said Sasori prepared himself. He began to play around with rock in his hand shifting it between his left and right hand. To start off he began to send his chakra into the rock. Controlling his chakra carefully he'd begin to rub his hands in a way so that it created a medium sized spear with a sharp end point. To deal with the incoming threat, Sasori would collide with his opponent's staff preventing it from coming closer to Sasori.

Good, just a couple things to note. You want to use shape manipulation to change the shape of the rock, not rubbing your hands in a way that creates it like one would with pottery. The other thing is you mention colliding with my staff, when I clearly said I used a sword of water. While this may not seem like a big deal, you have to realize the importance of paying attention to details and being able to visualize what the other person is trying to convey with their words. Later down the line, you'll face people where the way you word your attack is the difference between winning and losing. While elemental strengths and weaknesses play a big key, there are other deciding factors as well. We will go on more about that stuff another time but just make sure to carefully read and understand what the opponent is doing to make it easier to thwart their plans, moving on..
( Doton: Iwa Rendan ) - Earth Release: Rock Barrage
For this one, you will notice you do not create the rocks using the ground itself, rather you use you doton chakra to create the ring of rocks. This can be helpful in terrain where you may not have an Earth source to us, on water for example.

(Doton: Moguragakure no Jutsu) – Earth Release: Hiding like a mole technique
Using your molded doton chakra, you can dig into the ground either escaping (I wouldn't let someone see you do this) or prepare a sneak attack using the next jutsu (or any C rank and below that could apply that doesn't use hand seals). Note that the ground can be made to look as if nothing occured to it, further masking your movements. You can sense whats happening above ground as well, aiding your sneak attack even more. A useful jutsu given the right circumstance. Note that you must concentrate your earth chakra to keep the ground from collapsing in on you, as that would suck, big time..
(Doton: Shinju Zanshu no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Double Suicide Decapitation Technique
once under the opponent, this move can be used to snatch their ankles, using them as a pull up bar to ascend to ground level as you pull them into the earth, immobilizing them leaving them at your mercy. Your are then free to cut their head off, kick them like a field goal, or whatever your heart desires lol. Using that clone over there who's conveniently looking the other way, snake under the ground and take him out. Then give me some strengths and weaknesses of these attack manuevers..

To start off, Sasori would thrown down a smoke bomb causing for smoke to cover the entire field so that his opponent could not track his movements. Next, sasori began to mold his earth chakra into the ground causing for it to change into a soft material like structure enabling for him to hide himself underground. He made sure to cover up his tracks when he hid himself to make it as if nothing had happened to the earth. While underground Sasori had a clear sense of what was going on above the field giving him the field advantage.
While underground, Sasori would snake his way over towards his target, the clone. He would continue to stealthy make his way towards his enemy until he was right underneath the clone. Once he was underneath the clone he then quickly grabbed at his opponent ankles dragging it underground till it was at head level. Now that clone was at head level, Sasori arose from the ground, and then pulled out a sword. With the sword he would then slash at the clones head from the side causing for it to disperse.

Very good, and snake was a typo, I meant to say sneak xD I love that C rank and below Earth jutsu can be used while underground so it makes for a very versatile jutsu if used right. Always be careful as some people will instantly use something that will hurt you underground (like swamp of the underworld for example) so make absolutely sure they don't see you use it.
(Doton: Ganban Kyu) - Earth Release: Bedrock Coffin
As it says, you make the needed seal molding your doton chakra to the ground around the enemy making multiple sections of rock emerge around them. You them manipulate the sections to form two gigantic sections on the sides of them and then smash the heck out of the enemy in the middle. Use this jutsu on any random ninja you can think of, then give me any advantages/disadvantages you can think of.
(Doton: Ganchūsō) - Earth Release: Stone Spikes
Excellent jutsu right here. Using your doton chakra, you can make pillars of rock emerge from any...ANY earthen surface. Even ones you already used, and on weaker ones used by your enemy by overpowering their chakra. They also will pass thru any less dense substance to get to the enemy, flesh for example. Same as above please.

Sasori start off by performing the "Rat Hand Seal" after that he would begin to mold his earth chakra into the surrounding ground around the opponent ninja. The ground around the target would begin to emerge and surround the opponent with large sections of rock. The target would now have rocks surrounding them on all sides trapping them between sturdy rocks. Using his earth manipulation again he began to form the two giant rock slabs on the left and right of the opponent which would then close in on the target crushing them to a pulp between the rocks.
Advantages: Works at long range, and if the opponent was successfully trapped between the first stage of the move then it could lead them to a gruesome crushing.
Disadvantages: If the opponent works their way out of the first rock traps, then they can escape the jutsu.
For the next technique, Sasori began to use his Earth chakra throughout the ground creating stone spikes. The ground began to tremble as earth spikes erupted through the ground and began to make its way towards the enemy. Once the spears emerged from the ground they charged through any lesser obstacles which would get in its way, until it reached the path towards the enemy. Finally, once the spears reached the opponent it would pierce the enemy's flesh from all angles, also leaving their body immobilized between stone spears.

Good, you can also make the pillars arise from directly below the enemy making it even harder to escape.

Molding your doton chakra to the ground, you can create a small tremor that can trip someone up, especially if they are running. An excellent jutsu to throw off the aim of a jutsu or even if they are throwing something it could make them miss that as will. Note that it says "can" make them miss, not "will" make them miss. Each situation is different. Try this out on a clone I made over there when no one was looking who's now running at you with a pair of scissors in his hand, and give me a scenario as to when you'd imagine using this in battle..

Like smacking them with a thick ol' blob of earthen snot lol. As you see, you mold your doton chakra inside forming a globule of mud, before spitting it at either the opponent themselves, or the ground to stick them like rats on a sticky trap. Can blind and choke them if done right. Decide the fate of that other clone who's running at you from the other direction, then give me an advantage/disadvantage..

With his new knowledge he gained from his senpai Sasori directed his attention towards the clone running towards him now. He quickly began to concentrate his doton chakra through the ground, and generated a surge of earth chakra in the ground. As he sent his doton chakra into the surrounding land, the ground began to shake with causing a small tremor in the surrounding ground. So as the clone ran towards Sasori with a pair of scissors it would most likely lose its balance on shaking ground causing for the clone fall to the ground with the scissors probably stabbing itself with them.
I could use this in a battle when an opponent is throwing an object aimed at me, and with this jutsu I could throw their aim off causing for them to possibly miss.
Next, Sasori began to form Doton chakra within his mouth, and gave it a mud like structure. He began to pucker his lips as he formed the mud in his mouth, and began to aim it towards the incoming clone. Once he got a clear shot, he then launched a glob of mud at the ground so that the would get trapped inside of it. If the clone was to get trapped inside of the sticky substance Sasori would launch another glob of mud at the clones face causing for it blind it as well as possibly choking it.
Advantages:Multiple uses for battle.
Disadvantages: Relies on you getting a clear shot on the target in order for it to work.
I could use this in a battle when an opponent is throwing an object aimed at me, and with this jutsu I could throw their aim off causing for them to possibly miss.

Once he got a clear shot, he then launched a glob of mud at the ground so that the would get trapped inside of it. If the clone was to get trapped inside of the sticky substance Sasori would launch another glob of mud at the clones face causing for it blind it as well as possibly choking it.
Advantages:Multiple uses for battle.
Disadvantages: Relies on you getting a clear shot on the target in order for it to work.

Another thing I like about Mudshot, someone could be rushing you with the most bad ass forbidden ranked tai move and you can just spit it at the ground aiming it to land right where they are running and stop them in their tracks. A lot of lower ranked Earth can fight on par with my stronger attacks simply thru versatility, and a strong enough imagination.

A C rank that can possibly do A rank damage if used right (It wasn't like that when I learned it I believe). As you see it can be used on active C rank earth jutsu, as well as your terrain be it in a cave or the lower east side of Amegakure, it can collapse man made or natural structures by molding your doton chakra into said structure causing it's integrity to be compromised, smashing the enemy as it crumbles. As above, please use it on that clone thats hanging out under that stone tent it made to avoid sunburn, then give me 2 Advantages/Disadvantages..

As you see, using your chakra you transform the ground under the enemy into a river of mud that carries them off, if used right you could even redirect water attacks with it. However, it's main usage is a set up move for Earth Dragon Bullet..Same as above please.

I like the idea of using low-ranked techniques against more advanced jutsu, and also how just because they are low-ranked does not mean that they do not have any valuable uses.
1)To start off, Sasori would direct his attention towards the earthen structure which the clone was laying under. Sasori started by performing one hand seal. Next, He began to focus his chakra into the structure that the clone was under. As he generated his chakra into the tent made of earth where the clone was he started to slacken the sturdy structure of the rock causing for it to detach parts of it, inevitably causing for the weak points of it to loosen, and come crumbling down on the clone which lay underneath it. The clone most likely faced a brutal crushing if not defended against or dodged somehow.
Comments: How much damage would something like this do? And how do you determine how much damage an attack does?
Advantages:
1. Even though it is a C-rank techniques it can easily be made to do A-rank damage.
2. It is a very versatile technique which can be used in multiple situations especially to trap enemies or catch them by surprise.
Disadvantages:
1. It is not fueled by chakra so it can be defended against easily.
2. In a plain field is does not appear to have many usages.
2) For his next move, Sasori directed his attention at the path where his enemy was standing. He mapped it out in his head a straight path leading directly towards where the clone was. Quickly Sasori performed the Tiger hand seal, and focused his earth chakra in a path leading towards the clone. He would morph the land path into a rapid moving river of mud flowing forth causing for the enemy to be caught off balance. This technique would also cause for the enemy to be pushed back a good distance. Afterwards the opponent would possibly be disorientated by the sudden and fast shifting motion.
Advantages:
1. Capable of redirecting water ninjutsu that is in reason and rank.
.2 Capable of being used together with other jutsus.
Disadvantages:
1. Only able to be used on earthen structures and works only in mid-range.
2. Does not do any initial damage to the target instead of pushing them back.

Does this jutsu only work in a linear manner? Also can it work like with the mud shot technique where it creates a sticky like substance? Is the direction of the river capable of being shifted?

Once he was done performing the hand seals, a dragon like entity made of mud rose from the ground. As the dragon rose out of the ground it immediately set its eyes on the clone, and began charging towards the target. Whilst quickly flowing towards the enemy it opened its mouth to launch a barrage of thick wad balls formed from mud. If the mud bullets hit the target it would likely cause severe damage to the opponent causing for him to bend over in pain, but in this case it would cause for the clone to simply disperse in to a cloud of smoke.
Advantages:
1. Works in long range, and also can be used to fire two attacks the earth dragons, and mud bullets.
2. Works usefully with other jutsu changing it into a deadlier attack.
Disadvantages:
1. Requires a preexisting earth/mud source.
2. Takes up two of your moves overall to perform.
Comments: How much damage is added onto the technique if used in conjunction with a fire technique?
Also it essentially takes up two moves overall? Would you say that by using a more advanced or larger mud supply that this technique could be given more damage? Is it able to change directions? Can it be given sticky like properties ,the mud bullets?

Just jumping in here cause I can... being Vegeta's sensei and all...
Do you need to sort of determine that for yourself. If a small pebble falls from a couple of meters onto my head, it's going to be one of those annoying sort of pains... if a boulder the size of me falls from the same height onto my head, well the injuries would be more serious. Same if an entire cavern collapsed on someone... most likely they would be crushed to death.
Does that make sense?
The direction of the river really depends on the terrain. If your target has the high ground, then the river would flow back towards you. I guess that is what you mean by linear manner... most of the time you can just say the river flows towards your target or wherever you want it to, unless someone has already mentioned something about being on the high ground etc. That being said, you can use your chakra to put it onto an initial course just so long as you're not trying to send it up a mountain. You need to be very clear in details with this jutsu, like so many others.
It can be shifted by using another jutsu, otherwise it just flows in the original direction.
I'll leave this to Vegeta as I can't do all his work for him ;P

This is a really cool and underused jutsu imo. Simply slamming the ground, you can rise up the ground in front of you 90* which can serve many purposes defensively and offensively, or risen up in an manner to separate something creating a clear path in the middle. Use this for me on that rock bullet that clone over there just shot at you, then again please give 2 advantages/disadvantages

Now as you see, short to long range, simply raising the hand while molding your doton chakra you can create a river of mud, a freaking river of mud! Water can be used to speed up the flow and increase it's strength depending on the technique used to enhance it. Another game altering jutsu that is under used imo. Use this on that stampeding bull over there thats rushing you from long range....yeah I'm sorta grasping on that one...and give me 2 advantages/disadvantages of this jutsu..

1) After closely listening to his Senpai directions for his next technique, Sasori began to initiate the jutsu. He began by performing the Rat-Horse-Dog-Snake hand seals. Next, he would begin to sending his doton chakra under the ground where the clone was standing, and begin to manipulate his Earth chakra. Shortly afterwards the ground would begin to shake as several stone bamboo sticks rose out of the ground emerging around the clone trapping it in a 4x4 cage, greatly limiting its movement.
Advantages:
1) Good for containing an enemy.
2) The user can control the size of the cage, in order to restrain the opponent or give them room to move around.
Disadvantages:
1)Works only in Short Range.
2) Doesn't require much force to break through.
