Looks: Two of Rayleigh's most distinguishing traits are his round glasses and facial hair, which is arranged in a stripe-like pattern across his lower jaw. He also has a scar over his right eye, which he has had for many years.
In the face of that image though, he chooses to dress quite simply, usually just in a nearly plain t-shirt, shorts, and sandals. When out in public, he also seems to enjoy the cover of a large silver hooded cloak, though the hood is often down. If seen without his clothes for some reason however, the old man's body is surprisingly built and very well-toned, a testament to his incredible strength.
Personality: Rayleigh is light hearted, casual and fun loving, much like his padawan Luffy was supposed to have been. In the past he was shown to have been intolerable to the antics of the younger members arguing, and took the position of crew disciplinarian very seriously.
Though he often has a serious air, Rayleigh enjoys going with the flow and appearing in unexpected places and in unexpected ways, especially when given his status and age. And speaking of age, he often comments on it and how his body 'doesn't work the way it used to,' usually right before doing something incredible.
Unlike those that classically behave in this manner however, he is not often headstrong, looking before he leaps and taking time to plan ahead a bit before taking action, which is not to say that this saves the old man from all acts of spontaneity.

Background Information
History: 
Silvers Rayleigh was born before the First Shinobi World War broke out. He was born in the room of his parents, his parents where two beloved people which their names where known in whole Kirigakure. Rayleigh grown with both his parents as a very light hearted, casual and fun loving kid. He had allot of friends in Kirigakure but even tho, his one and only beloved friend where Zexis and Mina. His parents where watching what Rayleigh was doing while he was at the Ninja academy to avoid any problems or mischievousness. He always was interested in the Wind and the Water element, he loved to see how his Father used the wonderful mastery of the Wind element and his Mother using the creativity of the Water element. He always wanted to become just like the both of them, he loved them and he wanted to protect them with his own life when he wanted to achieve his goal; Mastering everything. He learned how chakra worked, what a shinobi can do and trained on his shuriken skill's all at the Ninja academy. And suddenly on a normal sunny but a wonderful day Rayleigh was happy he achieved on becoming a Genin by performing several technique's which his teacher taught him while he was in the Ninja Academy, he was excited to tell his parents that he became a genin on a age of thirteen years old. He walked in and told them, they where happy and gave him a surprise, they told to train Rayleigh in both the Water and Wind element, he was happy and over-excited, he asked them to begin as soon as possible and they did, they trained their son for eight long years, but during that time he kept going to the ninja academy, he became a Chuunin, his kunai and shurikens specialty became as good as ever and was ready to go on his first mission, he asked the Mizukage for not asking him for missions as he was training with his parents, so the Mizukage did not bothered him but they needed him when he mastered both Wind and Water. Being at a age of twenty-one he felt hatred spreading in Kirigakure. He didn't want to be a part of this hatred, people killed each other so he told his parents he wanted to join Konohagakure, his parents asked why but agreed with his decision so he let him go, they give him two pouches his parents told him not to open it until he reached the Forest of death, he thanked them for everything they did to him and a tear fell from his cheek of happiness having such amazing parents.
After two years he finally reached the forest of death, he fought several enemies while traveling forwards but won against each and every he was happy that he reached his decision, joining Konohagakure, he did not hesitate and jabbed into his pouches his parents gave him, but a man stopped him it was a man that wears a long black cloak, the only thing you could see is his face, he had brown hair and was in the 30's suddenly, Goro attacked Rayleigh, Goro gave him one punch in the face and Rayleigh flied against the tree that broke in half, he could not see Goro punching him, as Rayleigh swept the blood coming from his mouth off he began talking, he asked the man what his name is, the mand screamed 'Goro, what are you doing here?' the power and the will that Rayleigh radiates into his eyes where shining like a sun into Goro's eyes, he was surprised and gave Rayleigh a hand to get up as he did so the man named Goro offered him Fire training. Rayleigh looked happy but at the same time like 'WTF?' he was surprised that he offered such a thing all in the sudden and thought how he could know that he didn't got any training in the Fire training, Goro told him he could sense chakra. Despite the evil look into Goro his eyes Rayleigh trusts the man. After going trough a hard but great training time mastering the Fire element and Rayleigh being a age of almost thirty two years old he decides to travel to the gate of Konohagakure. Goro said that the War will break out very soon in Konohagakure so he should be ready after the hard training but a fun one, Rayleigh begged for training in the Earth and Lightning element, but Goro told the man it will be hard for him but even tho, Rayleigh didn't cared if it would be hard, he wanted to be the greatest.

Other Information
Water Affinity: Having been born in Kirigakure and being his main affinity, through intensive training in his home village, along with his parents Rayleigh learned to perform water techniques with one hand seal.
Wind Affinity: Rayleigh his second affinity is a special one, the wind element after having trained with his father, the best wind user in Kirigakure, Rayleigh is able to perform Wind techniques faster then other shinobi's.
Strenthg & Speed: Because Rayleigh had training with Goro Kaguya he became muscular and much faster, his speed was faster then a normal Shinobi he could reach someone which is in mid ranged distance in less time then a normal Shinobi.
Will of Fire: Rayleigh has a really strong willpower and carries the will of Fire inside from his very proud village of Konohagakure. Having such strong will means that in a fight, small injuries are not enough to stop Rayleigh, and also save his friends when their in danger. His will to live for the village is a very great deal, it has helped him many times in fights.
Fuuinjutsu: In both his pounches his parents gave him Rayleigh has pre-drawn scrolls to perform 'Ho/Mizu/Kaze/Tsuchi/Rai Houin'. The scrolls are being held by the pouches stripped on his right and left hip. These seals allows Rayleigh to summon his extra Katana, shuriken of different sizes, including normal shuriken, giant size Fuuma shuriken, kunais. Or combinations of kunais/ with flash grenades, and smoke grenades.
