For me, Dragon Ball and Pokemon were the stepping stones into the manga series. Toonami 4 lyfe.

Also tell me more manga to add please
One Piece is simply life.
It is god.
Dragon ball is the father of all manga like it or not , whoever disagrees is clearly hating , you wouldn't be wanking what you read if it wasn't for DB .
Not even close. Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, FMA, are all manga's that don't have DB as their main inspiration - or infact an inspiration at all.

Dragon Ball inspired Kishi therefore Naruto wouldn't be the same without Dragon Ball therefore it is the Father
Dragon Ball is overall, an overrated show. It's impactful, but when it comes to quality, there's others that shit on it.
or we can just have diff. opinions
What the hell are you talking about ? I'm taking about how DB was a worldwide sensation & got the manga/anime world out there .
The thing is thought DBZ is trumped in almost every area. It's really not that special, it's fame just came by coincidence. Any manga can become like that if comes at the right time or context.
Best anime? Bebop. TTGL. Death Note.
Most influential? Astro Boy. Akira. Hunter x hunter.
Most famous? Naruto. One Piece. Death Note again.
eh.
In this country it is anyway, people who don't even really get what anime is have a general awareness of Death Note in my experience. But yeah, Bleach applies just the same. While Death Note is really good, would it really be in the most famous? I mean, there's a reason Naruto/OP/Bleach are referred to as the Big Three.
Dragonball was better in story than DBZ, but together they're what have led to many of the anime and manga we watch and read today. There are many that came before that led to Dragonball's creation, but there are many, many artist who cite DB as their inspiration.
It may not be the best story wise, given there are much better anime that have followed, but it helped pave the way for a lot of the series we have today.
