Sasori gathers Earth chakra and concentrates his mind on it, by weaving through the Snake handseal. Sending the said chakra to Aigis' clone, Sasori makes the eearth rise and form a prison all around the clone. Now that the clone is trapped inside, Sasori manipulates the earth and leaves an opening in between, in order to attack. After doing so, Sasori gathers Wind chakra in order to create a wind spiraling ball and tosses it towards the trapped clone.
(Fūton: Rasen Kazedan) - Wind Release: Spiralling Wind Ball
First advantage is it can trap several enemies in, depending on how much chakra you use on it. You can also choose wether to leave some openings in it or not. Usually you would leave some openings to attacks and finish off an enemy . You can also close all the openings and dont let him escape. However the disadvantage here is it cannot be used in water source and can be crushed by C rank Lightning. If anyone uses this against me, I'd use a Raiton tech to get rid of it z.z
Sasori performs the Ram handseal while gathering Earth chakra in his body. Mustering enough of it, Saasori releases the chakra below the area where the other clone is standing. Using further shape manipulation, Sasori makes a large pit. This huge pit will suck the clone underground and causing her some damages, if there are rocks around. By channeling more chakra Sasori made it larger, giving the clone less chance to escape.
To answer your question, it would be 'cause you will get caught in the pit too. I guess so because the pit is very large and very fast. The safe option would be not to use this in short range.
Sasori forms the Tiger handseal and channels all his gathered chakra beneath his legs to create a rampart or defensive wall. This doton structure is huge enough to lift Sasori several meters. Then he forms three handseals and channels suiton chakra, converting it into water to create a huge waterfall to flow from the rampart towards the target.
Suiton: Takitsubo) - Water Release: Waterfall Basin
Nothing special. The user raises a huge wall of earth to defend from projectiles or water techniques. The advantage I see here is the mid range. So when your enemy is airborne and mid range, you use this to raise the earth, also growing some spikes. This would completely stab through the target's flesh and also kill him, cause the impact will be pretty harsh. You can also give shapes to it. The con here is that it can be destroyed by a powerful raiton, which would effect you too.For combos, the waterfall technique is nice.
(Fūton: Rasen Kazedan) - Wind Release: Spiralling Wind Ball
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: This technique allows the user to breathe wind-infused chakra into the palm of their hand, shaping it into a small, whirlwind-like ball. Then the user will shoot it at their opponent. This technique seems to be very fast and powerful, as it is capable of smashing through thick rock. They can be launched in rapid succession.

Suiton: Takitsubo) - Water Release: Waterfall Basin
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: After performing the required hand seals Boar → Dog → Ram the user creates a waterfall by developing spring water in a place without water veins and manipulating the resulting water current to form a wave. This is a very convenient technique as it can be used for training or relaxation. On the other hand, because it changes the environment on a large scale, it also has the effect of hiding one's location from the enemy by confusing them. The width of the water source, waterfall, and basin can be expended, as long as the user continues to send chakra in.
