Since this is your first lesson in earth before I teach you techs you'll need to tell me some things.

The first thing that you will need to do is explain the earth element to me. I would like you to tell me the basic strengths and weaknesses of the element, how these strengths and weaknesses can be used to your advantage or your disadvantage, what the earth element personifies to you, and why you find the earth element interesting or if you don't find it interesting, why you have that opinion. And basically anything else you want to say about earth relevant to the training and RP.

We'll discuss it then move on to the techniques afterward.

1: The element of Earth is one that is used by Ninja to utilize the surrounding Earth-like matter for multiple purposes, or create it themselves. It's basic strength is against Water, because Earth can absorb water, or get wet enough to where it turns muddy and dries. It's weakness is Lightning, because it can easily travel through and break the ground apart, or electrify mud.

2: I find Doton somewhat interesting because it isn't like the other elements.(wind, fire, water, and lightning)
When using it, you're working with a solid substance that's REMNANTS can sometimes even be useful.

3: Earth is also a component in several other elements and KG/KTs, like Wood, (Water/Earth) Lava, (Fire/Earth) and Dust. (Earth/Wind/Fire)

Ways to use Strengths/Weaknesses to your advantage: You can counter your enemys Water technique with a Earth technique to create a muddy area on the ground. After doing this, you can lure them close to it and use a Raiton move to "ruin their perfect day" ;)

I really it was interesting how you said the remains can be useful after an earth technique. Earth can alter the battlefield and a wise fighter would try to use the field to his advantage. Blocking off paths or creating new ones, etc.

Tell me how earth interacts with all the elements before we begin the techniques.

Earth is weak against lightning because the high power that lightning surges through the solid earth. Earth is held together because of the tightness of the molecules. Introducing lightning the solid structure will cause the molecules to gain energy and move faster. As the lightning goes through the earth, it causes this tightness to separated. This will make earth lose the integrity of its structure and cause it to fall apart in large chunks or just negate it altogether.

Earth is strong against water because it is able to withstand impacts and divert moving bodies of fluids. When water hits earth, because water is usually fluid and open to change in direction, certain water techniques cannot break through earth. This causes earth to be able to handle the impact of water techniques as well as divert the flooding which water techniques cause. Earth can also be able to channel water else where or drain water.

Now those are the commonly know element relationships. I want you to think beyond that and tell me how earth interacts with fire. Earth vs earth is simply based on rank and technique description, don't worry. As an example, I'll do earth vs wind.

Earth and wind are semi-neutral elements. Wind being an explosive element does indeed have the power to break through earth structures or push earth projectiles away. Wind can be used to cut earth and can also be used to push dust created from earth away. Stronger earth techniques can be used to wind stand the blast of wind but not without receiving substantial damage. Wind can be used to counter earth if used properly.

Earth vs fire is somewhat similar to Earth vs Water because, naturally, fire spreads.

Doton can stop a stream of fire in it's tracks by interrupting it, raise from the ground to cause stagnant, ignitable ash to disperse, Or, it can collaborate with fire to dry up mud faster which can create defensive walls, or useful field advantages. It can even collaborate with fire to increase it's offensive power. The latter of the aforementioned can be achieved by heating up rock or mud shots with fire jutsus of a certain rank; but I don't believe you can get the same result with dirt.

Yes, it is a bit small. A larger one would be more helpful.

Before you can start manipulate earth chakra in the form of jutsu you need to be able to manipulate earth chakra at lower levels so that your control of it is strong enough. I have prepared a hole for you, you will enter the hole, then I will cover the hole will dirt up to your head. You will not be able to move. Now feel the earth around you, and feel what it personifies. All those emotions I told you to tell me about earth, let those emotions race through your body. Find the perfect balance between your mind and body for the earth element. Then channel your chakra into the earth below your feet while channeling those emotions into the chakra and feel the chakra become one with the earth. Force your chakra to rise up beneath your in the shape of a pillar to lift you out from the dirt.

*Richter takes off his shirt, jacket and boots before jumping into the hole as you bury him up to his chin*

*He begins to feel the dirt against his skin, and starts to meditate, achieving the perfect balance between mind and body. Though, there are a few emotions that he is continuously feeling: that of strong will, confidence, and power. He starts to feel accustomed to the once shifting dirt that is now solid and fortified; just like his state of mind. Once that's done he channels his chakra into the dirt below his feet, allowing all his emotions to drain out, and starts to feel like he's at perfect harmony with the Earth. Abruptly, feeling like he's ready, he flexes his muscles and manipulates the Earth beneath his feet and extends it, and brings it upwards to create a piller of Earth that lifts him from the hole.*

This is how I will train you: I will first post the technique and the describe it in my own words, and then state a few sentences about the usefulness of the technique both offensively and defensively. I would like you to respond by by telling me:

- how you would perform the technique in battle
- how you will use the technique offensively
- how you can defend against the tech
- whether or not you find the technique useful or interesting

I would like a few sentences for each point or a few bullets. Whatever you prefer. I'll be going at 2 to 3 techniques per post to keep the training moving. I may go one at a time if I wish.

(Doton No Jutsu) - Earth Release Technique
Rank: D
Type: Attack/Defence
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Descripton: Creates small pillars of earth, small tools, and small shields of earth

This is the technique you just used, answer the question I have given you for each technique about this one. Be sure to include how to use this technique in combination for "how to use offensively."

I'd probably use that technique to create multiple pillars in a dense area to make it hard for my enemy to freely move around. This could potentially lead to them being in a dormant postion for a moment, which would provide me the opportunity to kill them. Or use it to make a few pillars that I can use for quick mobility or escape methods.
Example: using the pillars to escape the cloud of hot ash made by a B-Rank fire technique.
And now that I think about it, I might use the "Tool creation" element of this jutsu in collabortaion with weak fire to create fire augmented projectiles. Also, I'd use this in conjunction with strings to use Dragon Flame jutsu (if I'm out of Kunai/Shuriken, or if I'm in a postition which won't allow me to use them)
____

I think I'd defend from this technique by using a C-rank fire wall that's essentially good at blocking tools(that're mostly made of metal) and such. Or, I'd use a lightning technique to disintegrate the Earth, as soon as it's formed so it'll be stopped in it's tracks.
___

Meh, I find this jutsu's practicality to be sheerly circumstantial, and not that interesting other then some VERY vague potential that it seems to have.

(Doton: Shinju Zanshu no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Double Suicide Decapitation Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user, emerging from the ground below the target area, pulls down the opponent so that only their head is above ground. Unable to move, the opponent can easily be decapitated or tortured.

Now unlike that technique, this technique involves focusing the earth chakra in your body not into the earth. Focus your chakra into the outside of your entire body and especially focus on your arms and legs. Then use the earth chakra in your arms and legs to dig into the earth while simultaneously using the earth chakra to move the earth around you. Burrow under ground beneath your opponent and move the earth beneath their feet so that when you drag them down they are dragged into the earth an stuck. This is good offensively to attack your opponent when they do not know your location or when you have a clone do this and the opponent is unaware of the clone. To defend if you see your opponent use it, send lightning into the ground, if you don't, as soon as they grab you respond by using a lightning tech to attack.

I think I'd tie my enemy up from underground. Or, maybe, I'd use a clone to perform this and slap a bomb tag on him and take him out along with my clone. Overall, this technique is quite good if you want to make physical contact with the enemy.

Without resources, I would use this technique to escape blinding light or a big katon jutsu. Though, if I do have resources, I'd use this technique to burrow into the remnants of previous earth jutsu, or lava rocks, for protection. Also, if theres no other way, and you know you're in a Genjutsu, this technique can be used to get you in a safe place for a few moments so you can break it.

I find this technique very interesting, because it can be practical in a lot of situations. I'll definitely use it. =D

(Doton: Gansetsukon) - Earth Release: Rock Section Cane
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary/Offense
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: This technique allows the user to take a small chunk of rock and turn it into the shape of a staff. The user can then use it as a melee weapon or throw it with pinpoint accuracy at their opponent. A variation of this technique allows the user to create several staffs and launch them at the target, but with less accuracy.

This is similar to the first technique you learned. You send your earth chakra into the earth to then manipulate the earth into the desired shape. This one specifically allows you to turn a small chuck of rock and make it thinner and longer to form a staff. The staff can be used for physical attacks or it can be used as a projectile and thrown as if it was a javelin. Or you can use it to make your opponent guard against a wide area by making several staffs and launching them all at the opponent. The first method is more of a direct attack and the second method is a distraction meant to be followed up with a surprise attack. To defend against the first method, a simple lightning technique or fire/wind blast with physical power would work. Second method a larger fire/wind blast would work, but a earth wall would work as well.

( Doton: Iwa Rendan ) - Earth Release: Rock Barrage
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Range: Short – Mid
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 20
Description: The user will concentrate their chakra into their arm and then release their chakra creating a ring of rocks that are then flung at the opponent.

To break it down, this technique is just throwing rocks. You focus your earth chakra in your arm and then release small amounts of it and materialize the earth into small chunks of earth. You create several rocks and momentarily create a ring around your arm, then fling all the rocks at your opponent. Offensively, I find it useless. You better off using kunai or shuriken. Defensively, the opponent is throwing rocks, I think you can figure this out yourself and tell me how to defend.

Sorry for this late reply. The internet at this house is pure garbage.

I'd use this technique to spawn weapons from my surroundings that would be useful in particular circumstances when I can't use a Kunai. Or, I could use it in conjunction with low rank fire or wind to create stronger/faster augmented projectiles with great accuracy. As for the practicality of the multi-projectile variant; it could be used to get rid of a lot of shadow clones.

Hmm. I think I might defend against this technique by using a wind tech that can re-direct the staff back at the enemy, or I'd use a earth technique to block; One that would the staffs would stick in to and rest dormant for potential latter use in battle.

It's an ok move. I could find some brief use for this. =D

since the rocks develop around your arm, I'd use this move in close combat, against a Taijutsu specialist, or a clone. As for offensive use; I'd use it randomly, in conjunction with a wind move to speed up the rocks and hit my enemy with something they weren't expexting, or as I'd use it as a way to force my enemy to do something that could prove benificial to me.

One can use a simple kunai to deflect these rocks, or one can use a earth wall. (Any form of defense will work, actually).

Nah, it's just rocks. Nothing interesting there xD

(Doton: Ganban Kyu) - Earth Release: Bedrock Coffin
Rank: C
Type: Offense
Range: Mid/Long
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: After performing the Rat hand seal, the user to control multiple sections of rock and move them around their opponent. The user then forms two gigantic sections that crush the opponent.

This is a more advanced technique than the ones that you just performed. This one requires you to perform the Rat hand seal. Hand seals are used to precisely channel chakra in the required amounts to manipulate the elements the way you desire. This technique is very simple. By sending your own earth chakra into the ground beneath your opponent you can cause the earth on both sides of them to form two large sections of rock to move around and crush the opponent in the middle. The technique can be used offensively to cause the opponent to defend their sides while you attack from the front or back. It is mostly used to widen the array of your attack and cause you opponent to defend more. To defend you can just smash one side of the sections using lightning or other earth and escape.

(Doton: Moguragakure no Jutsu) – Earth Release: Hiding like a mole technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Long
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user changes earth into fine sand by channeling chakra into it, allowing the user to dig through it like a mole. While underground one can sense what is happening on the surface and use the information to launch a surprise attack on the enemy. Once can also hide deep in the ground, escaping to a depth where the enemy cant reach. It also appears that after digging, the ground can be returned to its original state, leaving no trace of where the user entered the earth.

This is like one of the previous techniques except a bit more advanced.

"Now unlike that technique, this technique involves focusing the earth chakra in your body not into the earth. Focus your chakra into the outside of your entire body and especially focus on your arms and legs. Read this again as the concept is essentially the same and doesn't garner another write-up. Key thing to keep in mind is that you do not merge with the earth, you dig through it. So spikes underground can still stab you and you can still get crushed.

-I think I'd use this technique on an enemy that's trapped in a binding water jutsu, or one that surrounds the enemy. This would be effective because the enemy wouldn't be able to use lightning to beat the Earth because they'd end up shocking themselves. Though, of course the water jutsu will have to be used by a clone if it's something like the Water Prison jutsu, unlike the circumstance if the jutsu was something like Rolling Water Shockwave, in which case it could be used prior to this tech by the user.

-I'd defend from this techique by using a Earth Wall. An Earth wall would stop both sides in their tracks and give me a chance to use Hiding like a mole since my enemy won't be able to see me. Also, this technique can create 2 large rocks that can be used for cover against low rank fire, water, and even Smoke. Another way to avoid is to use "Earth Release Technique" to create a piller that'll lift you out of harms way.

-I find this tech interesting, yeah. It takes the "force approach", meaning that it can pass through intangible substances. Though, it's utilization practicality in that aspect depends souly on the rank of the tech, and the element itself

Since the Earth that you're digging through has been turned into sand, does that mean that Gaara bios can crush you if they are aware that you have used this jutsu?

-Like I said above: if an earth wall is placed between the two crushing rocks, your enemy won't be able to see you. Meaning, that you can use this technique to your advantage in that particular circumstance. Also, I think it would be useful to use this technique to set explosive traps down underground. Or, one can use a Lightning attack to break through the Earth and hit an enemy from below. The aforementioned would be useful because the speed of a high rank Lightning jutsu would make it pretty hard to react to if it had just come out of the ground, close to you.

-One useful way to "dodge" using this technique, is to use it not as a sneak attack, but as a means of placing yourself wherever you want on the battlefield, without having to worry about your enemy. Also, you can use this technique to burrow into the remnants of large Earth jutsus for protection.

-Yes, I find this one interesting. It just has so much potential.

Yes, if Gaara bios can explain correctly how they pinpoint your location underground, they can utilize the sand to crush you.

(Doton: Ganchūsō) - Earth Release: Stone Spikes
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: This technique lets the user create a few rock pillars that will protrude from the ground to skew the target. The rock pillars will even pass through obstacles to reach their target.

This jutsu uses your earth chakra to manipulate existing earth. The user will send their earth energy into the ground and move it beneath their opponent. The user will then merge his own energy with the energy in the existing earth beneath the opponent. The user will then call their energy to rise from the ground while sharpening it. Since the energy has now become one with the earth, this will cause the earth to rise up with the user's energy. The earth is sharp enough to pierced flesh. This technique is used mostly as a pure distraction technique. It has not other true offensive uses. A fighter would use this to create spikes under his opponent to make him cheaply respond to give time for the fighter to follow up with another attack. I personally find it somewhat cheap to just start out with this technique first turn, but in certain situations, if can give you the upper hand. To guard, either use a lightning techniques to make the pillars crumble, or if your bio has the speed and reflexes for it, use a technique that strengthens your feet and smash the pillars with kicks as they rise. The latter is mostly for finesse points.

Description: The user will concentrate and release their chakra into the ground to create a small tremer that can result in harming the enemy target.

The user sends their chakra into the ground and then wildly manipulates it underground. This will be enough to cause a small tremor in the earth enough, not strong enough to make your fall, but strong enough to make your lose your balance. Though it reads offensive this is more of a supplementary technique. Mostly it is used to occupy the opponent to give time for the user to use another technique. By itself, it is not very strong. To defend against it, I would first channel chakra to my feet to stick to the ground as it shakes. This will prevent me from losing balance. Then I would take to the air to perform an aerial attack rendering the tremors useless. Or use a lightning jutsu that travels through the earth to cancel out the earth chakra while also attacking your opponent.

Bro, I'm so bloody sorry. I didn't reply right away and the notification timed out which lead to me forgetting.
It won't happen again.

-I'd use this tech in collab with Genjutsu and a fast lightning tech. By doing this, I'd be making by enemy have to break free from the genjutsu, do something about the spikes, and do something about the fast Raiton - all without breaking timeframe. Also, I'd use this on an enemy that is using a dome or something to guard.

-I'd block this tech by using Earth Release Technique to send myself into the air my creating a pillar under my feet (Would that work?). As for defending with this tech: I'd use it to dodge small attacks that travel across the ground, or to protect myself from charging enemys.

- Yes, this tech seems very good, Or, "Cheap" as you said xD

- I think I'd use this tech after throwing out a big, strong projectile. Doing this would make it somewhat hard for my enemy to react in time, due to their vision being obscured and the sudden feeling of the Earth shaking. Also, this might prove quite effective if the user does a huge Raiton infused Suiton attack beforehand because of it's speed.

- I might use Lightning Release: Lightning Surge to disable the Earth chakra in the ground to stop this tech. (Would that particular tech work?) Or, I'd use a doton tech that doesn't cost seals and creates a solid mass that I could use for stability.

-Yeah, this tech seems real good. Quite troublesome sounding, actually.
