Ok, so since this is your first training session tell me everything you know about the Earth Element.

To learn Earth release is to learn how to manipulate dirt, mud, or rock, etc.
It is strong against Water and weak against Lightning.

It is commonly used with the snake handseal, and many who use this release slam their palm on the ground. Doton is most common with the Iwagakure shinobi.

Earth is strong against water because water sources usually rest on earth.
it is weak against lightning because lightning can shatter through the earth with almost no trouble.

And your not really supposed to find it, but just know. It's ok that you don't since we're here to learn lol. So Earth is actually weak to water because it not only halts the flow of water for the most part, and because it can absorb the water.

Well, onto meditation.

Sit down here on the earth and begin to meditate. Think about what Earth really is. Meditate on what we just discussed. Meditate on the characteristics and properties of earth, basically earth as an essential "whole." Use chakra if necessary.

Now, begin to focus your doton chakra into that rock, and change its composition to make it much softer almost like clay. Then once it's soft enough, manipulate the shape of the rock to resemble a kunai. Afterwards, cause it to harden once more.

At first the rock has a hard surface and dense composition.
After focusing my doton chakra into it i lower its density to make it as soft as clay.

Now there is clay in my hand. Manipulating the shape, I mold the clay into the shape of a kunai. I hold it carefully and then i raise its density, causing it to be in its original harder state.

After focusing my doton chakra into it i lower its density to make it as soft as clay.

Now there is clay in my hand. Manipulating the shape, I mold the clay into the shape of a kunai. I hold it carefully and then i raise its density, causing it to be in its original harder state.

Now do it again with this new rock, except now I want you to turn it into a shield you can use to defend against weak jutsu, or physical attacks.

Repeating said process I lower its density to make the rock very soft.

I form the shape of a shield with the rock. and i increase the density.
however this time i make this rock more dense than the kunai.

The rock attached to my arm is hard enough and dense enough to take hits.

Good, and now the hardest and most difficult part of learning this technique..

Focus your Doton chakra throughout the ground just in front of you. Have it so that in the area in front of you, more earth forms and rises up in the form of an Earth Pillar that should stand just at your own height, as well as being no bigger than a foot wide on each side.

I concentrate very hard and focus my doton chakra towards my feet and into the earth. I gradually gain control of the earth in front of me.
I build more earth onto the area in front of me, causing it to rise up before me.

It forms a pillar shape that I cautiously measure out to my exact height.
I also take extreme caution that they are only 1 foot wide on each side.
