What is earth element and what are its properties? What are its strengths and weaknesses and how would you use earth in battle?

UP: Earth Release/Doton is one of the five basic elements that is also one of the most versatile elements there is. it gives you the power to manipulate your surroundings, so you can change the composition of the earth so it can be hard and soft, thus allowing you to create mud, dirt, or rock , allowing you to make it heavier or lighter also. it is strong against water/suiton , and weak against lightning/raiton. o.o did that cover it?

*shuts eyes while sitting in the ditch focusing my chakra to become connected to the earth, i take a good look at who i am, while trying to become one with the earth, i notice in myself that i need self discipline , so i plant my chakra all around me like roots to a tree, connecting myself to try and reach, and feel the earths core*

* i close my mind, i clear every thought,every doubt, all i see in my mind is the word "believe" , while focusing chakra throughout my body, i quickly open my eyes, i then place my hands upon the ground, while kneeling down, i funnel my chakra through the ground, as i am concentrated without losing single focus, i start to feel my chakra seeping and connecting with the earth, i then attempt to pull two chunks of earth with my focused chakra*

Good, now I want you to use shape manipulation and mold those chunks of earth into something useful like a sword and shield.

*as i start to pull the two chunks of earth from the ground, i focus my chakra around both the rocks , slowly compressing the earth into shape, i begin to start straining my chakra, i then drop both pieces of earth*

UP: this is harder then it sounds o.o

Now I want you to create a small shield out of the earth in front of you, using your doton chakra to manipulate it into both shape and size, so that it is strong enough to block a kunai.

*i mold chakra within my hands, then i slam my right hand on the ground,while gripping my right wrist with my left hand, i plant my doton chakra, and i begin to focus real hard on pulling out the earth, as i slowly start to remove the earth , i then focus more chakra by manipulating the earths form with pure chakra and determination, i start to create a decent sized shield, that is 2 feet wide 15 inches thick in width, it slowly starts to crack*

UP: would this be counted as a jutsu? o.o

*Throws a Kunai at your shield and It breaks in half, however only slowing the kunai from reaching you*

* i quickly slam my hands upon the earth once again, as i start to get the hang of my doton chakra , i quickly pull out a huge chunk of rock, and i force my chakra around the rock, breaking it down making the edges pointy left and right, then the bottom of the shield turns out pointy also, making the shield 2 feet wide and around 20 inches thick, i keep my doton chakra flowing through the shield to make it more durable, since the last shield did not hold properly*

UP: come at me sempai!!

UP: the disadvantage of using the shield is, if you let up on your chakra control, the shield can easily be broken, the advantage of you using the shield, could protect you from certain jutsu's depending on how potent your chakra is.
