Super late...

So what can you tell me about doton release and its weaknesses, strengths and how it works with other elements.
O_O I was sleeping :T_T:

- Doton, basically, is one of the five basic elemental nature transformations. It exists in multiple forms; Mud, Rock and Dirt. It is a very versatile element, almost as versatile as Water, if not more versatile, and can be used for both offensive and defensive purposes. It is perhaps the most useful element, as you are able to create different forms and shapes and sizes from the techniques, and can be used for various purposes. With the Earth Element, you can manipulate the terrain, and change it, manipulating surrounding rock or terrain to perform jutsu, using it as a basis for the technique. You can also create the technique, and shoot a mudshot out from your body, your mouth. Usually, you need to be in contact with the ground to perform Earth Techniques, if the jutsu in question is performed by manipulating surrounding land, or using the land as a basis for your jutsu. You need to send you chakra through the ground thereon forth. If the jutsu in question, however, does not require any existing rock or land, you can perform the technique even in mid-air. Some examples are Dropping Lid, and Sticky Mud Fall.

Also, with Earth, you can change the composition, the hardness and such, from as hard as stone/metal, or as soft as clay/plasticine? As shown by the Third Tsuchikage, Onoki, you are able to change the density of objects and matter, and change their mass and weight accordingly, allowing flexibility and crippling powers. Along with that, Earth Release is also useful for transportation, as you can not only create pillars to move you to a different location, but also go underground and evade attacks. However, this makes you susceptible to earthquakes.

Iwagakure Ninjas are commonly affiliated with the element, Earth, and many ninjas were shown capable of doing it. I suppose thats where its name stems from. Also, it has been shown that the hand seal 'Snake', the one where both of your hands are held together, fingers entwined and intersected. Also you can slam your hand on to the ground alternatively.

- Earth is strong against Water, as water needs something solid to flow on, and that is earth. By manipulating Earth, you can either create a wall, which would cause the water to come to a complete halt, since it has no alternative but to flow back or do nothing. When it hits something solid, and gets its way blocked, water jutsu cannot continue flowing. However, a forceful enough, in other words, a higher ranked water technique is able to break the earthen wall. Earth is weak to Lightning, and the reason is pretty obvious; Earth, being a great conductor of lightning, would have lightning pass through it quickly and forcefully, and lightning can easily destroy its minerals contained, and destroy the earth. Thus, Earth is weak to Lightning.

- By combining it with Fire, I suppose you get Lava, a unique Kekkei Genkai, which is hotter than normal fire, and is very thick liquid or substance. By combining it with Water, you get an advanced element called Wood, although you should get Mud sometimes, if you do not possess the KG. As for the other elements, it is not yet comfirmed. Also, it is a component of the KT Dust Release, shown by Onoki and Muu.

- Some Doton users included are; Onoki, Hiruzen, Jiraiya, Yamato.

This by far, is the best explanation Ive ever been given by a student of any elemental training O_O

Dont forget Orochimaru ;)

Now, lets get started with this training... -Digs a hole-

I want you so sit in this ditch while channeling your chakra into the dirt around you in order to become one with the element. Meditate until I return, and Ill see how youve come along.

I want you so sit in this ditch while channeling your chakra into the dirt around you in order to become one with the element. Meditate until I return, and Ill see how youve come along.
I see U_U Well, I am indeed awesome O^O

As I watch Nagato Sensei digging a hole in some random place, in the middle of nowhere, in a forest clearing, I stare around, admiring the landscape whilst Nagato's pathetic attempts to dig a hole lands in an utter success U_U

Then, as I hear his instructions for me to sit inside the earthen hole, where creepy-crawlers come and eat you up at night O^O, I take up the challenge like a bald man, and immediately jump into the 6 foot deep hole, and as I reach the hard earthen soil landing, I look up and realize I am about 6 foot underground >_>. See what I did there?!

Then, I quickly take a look around me, and take a sit, cross-legged, and puts my hands together, forming a meditating pose. I clear my mind of earthworms, and focus solely and entirely upon the landscape around me, the dark brownish earthen soil around me, and the small jagged stones that are mixed along with the dirt. I start to close my eyes, and furrow my eyebrows. Then, I start to build up my chakra in my body, and gather a good and peaceful amount of chakra, and gather it in my body. I breathe in and out, and feel the earth around me. Then, I send my chakra out and release it from my body, releasing it into the terrain around me, into the soil, and dirt, on an 'exploration' mission to find out more about earth. As my chakra slowly makes its way past the earthen landscape, I feel its pulses and what it comes into contact with. I flow my chakra around my body, and circulate my chakra, so that my body feels what my chakra feels.

Then, as I feel my chakra spreading around the terrain, I feel the jagged small rocks, and bigger, sturdy ones. I feel that the solid rocks have a proportionally high density in comparison to it's mass, and it does not sway, and is sturdy. The molecules are tightly packed together, and has little room for your fingers to poke through :zonder: It is firm and sturdy, unyielding to little forces, such as air resistance, since the molecules are tightly packed together, there is no air resistance to it, and thus falls through the air at maximum speed, with the help of gravity, which in turn causes its weight of the stone. Stone is also rather heavy, and can cause quite an impact and injure people when dropped, due to gravity and the lack of air resistance.

Then, as my chakra savages through the wilderness, searching for plastic bottles, but yet finds dirt, and mud. As I feel the earth around me, and the earthen soil, I find another property of it. Malleability. It is soft, moist, and unlike stone, it is more of liquid, though a thick one. Grains of dirt are small, tiny, and can slip through many things. Although the two properties are in conflict, they exist in different forms, which make earth diverse and versatile.

After meditating for several hours, I continue to focus, and take in everything about the earth. I clear my mind, and become one with the earth. I memorize everything I have learnt about Earth, and imitate my chakra, making my chakra sturdy and strong. During my training, I realize that Earth can be used in many different forms, which makes it a flexible element, not flexible in terms of properties, but in jutsu and techniques ^_^

As you return, I babble out everything I have learnt to you, educating you on Earth U_U
