(Doton: Moguragakure no Jutsu) – Earth Release: Hiding like a mole technique
One of the best doton jutsu ever if you ask me. You can hide from your opponent while being able to move around and also being able to sense what goes on the surface. Because you dig space instead of merging with the ground, you can dig up enough space to sneak someone with you (Eg; a clone). Keep in mind, once you're in a cavity you've dug, you can't use another jutsu then go back to digging. If you do, you'll have to reuse this jutsu, this is because you channel your doton chakra into the ground to soften it to ease the digging. Also, keep in mind that if you use offensive techniques, you're likely to cause the roof to fall over you.Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Long
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user changes earth into fine sand by channeling chakra into it, allowing the user to dig through it like a mole. While underground one can sense what is happening on the surface and use the information to launch a surprise attack on the enemy. Once can also hide deep in the ground, escaping to a depth where the enemy cant reach. It also appears that after digging, the ground can be returned to its original state, leaving no trace of where the user entered the earth.
Channel your chakra into the ground and manipulate its coherence to make it soft and smooth. As you dip your hands into it, it will show little to resistance, so dig in and crawl into the gap you make. Keep channeling your chakra up so you can feel everything that is standing on the floor.

Yeah, the technique itself is not the most offensive that Doton can provide for the user. However in cases where it is preceded by something that would distract the opponent it could be quite effective, since their mind would not be concentrating on the slabs erupting out of the Earth.I perform the rat handseal and start channeling a decent amount of Doton chakra into the ground. While maintaining the handseal, I use the gathered chakra to make several sections of rocks rise from the ground. I then use the chakra inside the sections to make them merge together and form two larger sections. Using the chakra inside the two sections, I make them move towards each other which would result in crushing what is between them.
Question: I take it this jutsu is fairly easy to counter as first of all several sections rise, they merge together and then crush your opponent and thus it takes some time?
I start by gathering chakra into the ground underneath me and use it to soften the ground and it allows me to sink into it. As I'm in the ground, I use my chakra to soften the earth around me which allows me to dig my way towards you under the ground. While digging, I keep sending chakra out into the earth above me which allows me to sense what is above me. When I sense you, I dig upwards and once I'm out of the hole I stop channeling chakra into the ground and it becomes solid again.
Another question: I read the jutsu list a bit, if your opponent knows you're under ground can he kill you by making the earth shake and thus making the ceiling of the tunnel fall down on you? Or would it be more effective by creating spikes which rise from the ground and would thus also pierce what's inside of the tunnel?
I see, so the best option would be by first letting a jutsu come from above him? Or even a few kunais that would fall down on him?Yeah, the technique itself is not the most offensive that Doton can provide for the user. However in cases where it is preceded by something that would distract the opponent it could be quite effective, since their mind would not be concentrating on the slabs erupting out of the Earth.
Okay, got it ^_^As for the second question, yes. I highly recommend not using this technique in cases where your opponent has a clear perception of you, as then you are completely open to be attacked. The most common case of defeating someone whilst using this technique is to use ''Swamp of the Underworld'' because the thick mud would suffocate them, causing near to instant death. Though there are various ways one can go in attacking, since the movement between going into the Earth and then coming out isn't as fast as people make it out to be; hence you can use spikes to protrude them whilst underground, though breaking of the ceiling of the tunnel would vary depending on the size of the whole made from the technique, as the width would be dependent on that.
Well yes, something to hinder him from the environment around him so he'll be caught by surprise when the slabs come out, is acceptable and good. ^^I see, so the best option would be by first letting a jutsu come from above him? Or even a few kunais that would fall down on him?
Okay, got it ^_^
I place my feet firmly on the ground and start sending Doton chakra through them into the ground. I make my chakra spread so that it is gathered in a large area underneath you and myself. When I have gathered enough chakra in the ground, I channel some chakra into my feet so that I won't lose balance and continue by using the chakra in the earth to make it shake. Due to the ground suddenly starting to shake, you'd lose balance.
Immediatly after making the ground shake, I use the chakra that already was gathered in the ground and perform a single handseal to make several spikes rise from the ground next to you. Ofcourse I made them rise at a fair distance from you so that you wouldn't be pierced by the spikes which were made very sharp by using my chakra to manipulate and compress the earth.
I feel like the second jutsu is very usefull. Could it be a good idea to make spikes rise from the ground when your opponent is in the air. So that if he were to land, he'd be pierced and thus be forced to use another jutsu to evade the spikes.
Alright ^_^Well yes, something to hinder him from the environment around him so he'll be caught by surprise when the slabs come out, is acceptable and good. ^^
Yes, you're absolutely correct. The spikes are very essential and a key component to the versatility of Earth itself, you can pretty much make these from any surface of Earth. Be it be from the side of a mountain, from a wall raised up or even from a normal patch of ground itself. The best way to equip this jutsu though, would be to have accurate timing and precision. Like the example you stated, if someone is coming down from the air, with the right mindset as to when to use this jutsu it could be a real killer even though it is just a C-rank.
Yes, it definitely can. Mud is a flammable substance, though while you won't be able to follow with a fire technique in some circumstances due to the speed of the techniques, it is perfectly adequate for an acquaintance or a clone to follow with a fire technique if the mud is in the air, and as you said yourself if the mud is on the ground, you'd be able to.Alright ^_^
I begin by gathering a decent amount of Doton chakra within me and once I have gathered enough chakra, I direct it into the area around and in my mouth. Once the chakra is there, I gather a some saliva and use the chakra to mix the two of them so that the chakra becomes mud like. I then open my mouth and spit the mud out towards a nearby tree, as the mud travels I use my chakra within to to shape it into a globule.
I immediatly thought of something when I saw this jutsu, can it be mixed with fire? Either by a clone while the original spits out the mud or when the mud is on the ground as a patchy substance and the user would then use a fire jutsu on it. I take it the mud and fire would mix and become like lava?
And then my next questionWould the lava be strong against both wind (fire>wind) and water (earth>water)?
I see, so let's say that if I combine both the mud and fire, I could probably expect a lightning jutsu from my opponent since water would be neutral to it and wind would be weak against it. And then I could send a wind jutsu behind it/around it in order to make it difficult for my opponent to block it with lightning. And well, it will become lava yes, but not the KG lava we have in this RP. It technically becomes super-heated mud, something that we would refer to as a pseudo-element, a mixture of two elements that could be combined and work together. But yes, on that sense the globule of mud now would be strong against wind. However, I believe it would be neutral to water, since (Fire < Water < Earth)
Most likely yeah. But that's not to say they definitely they'll use lightning, who knows? It's always good to be prepared for everything, though I have seen lightning be the most preferred in such a circumstance. xDI see, so let's say that if I combine both the mud and fire, I could probably expect a lightning jutsu from my opponent since water would be neutral to it and wind would be weak against it. *Gets magically teleported* O_O Are you a wizard?!
As I walk out of the cave, I channel a large amount of Earth chakra into the whole cave. When my chakra is spread throughout the cave and the ground, I use it to find pillars and supporting structures. Once I have located them, I send all the gathered chakra into them and use that chakra to break the important sections of the pillars and structures. As these supporting structures fall down, the cave itself hasn't got any support left and collapses.
While you say that it is quite rarely found, couldn't I force my opponent to use the following jutsu:
(Doton: Iwa Enchou no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Earth Dome Technique
And then use that to my advantage and make the dome collapse?Rank: B
Type: Defensive, Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description:The user creates a dome of earth, which protects them from external attacks. The domes shape is in a similar fashion to wood release: wood locking walls. That creates a half face dome.
Ah yes, that sounds very logical ^^Most likely yeah. But that's not to say they definitely they'll use lightning, who knows? It's always good to be prepared for everything, though I have seen lightning be the most preferred in such a circumstance. xD
As for your question, well why that is a good tactic, the dome itself is created by your opponent. The Earth from the dome is made out of your opponents chakra then, which consists of B-rank as well, for this you'd then send your chakra into the dome, but since your opponent's chakra is a higher rank than yours (This jutsu is a C-rank) It wouldn't be able to overtake his chakra and break the structure of the Earth, meaning the dome would still be there. ^^
