DISCLAIMER: And as a note to add... while I fully believe Kakashi has access to these speeds, there's a reason he doesn't use them.
It's because he's scared to, and of the after effects it may have on his body... he was already put in shock and worried for Lee, even knowing he had the ability to use that power.
So yes, just because he has it doesn't mean he'll ever use it. I'm only saying
Welcome to my thread, members and mods. Today I'll be going over why Kakashi's speed is underrated, and how he is as fast as 6th Gate Gai.
It's no secret. Kakashi isn't known for his speed, so that factory is generally overlooked. And you may be wondering, if he had such speed, why not use it in the fight with Obito prior to Madara's arrival? And the answer is simple; Kishi dwasn't aiming to stress his speed. That was Naruto's thunder.. Kakashi's gimmick this ark has been kamui. That's been his signature attack and the key to this war, while Naruto's role has been to play ketchup with parralleling Minato's speed, becoming the speedster of the series.
Now, moving on... Kakashi is as fast as 6th Gate Gai. Why? Because, he saw his gates active during their tag team fight with the Bijuus using his Sharingan in page 10 of chapter 567.
It's the exact same situation as it was when Sasuke was copying Lee's weightless speed.
And don't be alarmed, I'm not a fanboy... I've already thought of some of the responses I may get.
'It's different because Lee was in his weightless speed, not Gate.'
Now I'm here to tell you that this doesn't change anything. In fact, it only supports me.
Sasuke in part one before his first Chunin selection fight was a mid-experienced Sharingan user, yet he was still capable of copying such an amazing speed as weightless Lee. I should remind you... his weightless speed was very... very quick. And it's not very far fetched to say that his speed was on par with Sasuke's almost-speed blitz with Deidara. If you look at the distance between Lee and Gaara, and Sasuke and Deidara, I'd say it's about the same, if not Lee being further.
From another view:
Now for the blitz:
Now call me crazy, but Lee's blitz was far more intense, given the panel effects and 'instant' movement feel to it. Anyway, barely anybody in the room but Gai and Kakashi could keep up with him.
Even Lee's Initial Lotus is enough to blitz most characters without A/Minato teir reflexes, as shown in chapter 52 page 15. Upon using it to protect Sakura and the gang, Dosu was so startled he assumed he 'vanished' in mid air, truly giving an impression on his base speed.
Furthermore in chapter 83 page 5, Choji commented his eyes could 'barely follow' him.
And as we've seen with Sasuke and Bee's fight, without those gifted reflexes, you can't dodge something too fast even if you can see it coming... so how could you possibly hope to dodge something that you can barely follow?
Don't believe me yet? Think it was just a thing that only Sasuke could do at the moment? And how on earth is any of this relevant to Kakashi? My next point.
In chapter 85, Lee was on the border of opening the Gates... Gai finally revealed the secret to his success, where Kakashi 'lost respect' for him and stated that Lee was a 'genius of hardwork'. Kakashi's comments:
To further prove that he can analyze that speed, the chakra levels and details of body adjustment and apply it to his to copy that technique and speed, refer to page 9 of chapter 85.
He completely viewed Lees chakra levels and the bursting of them, which was Lee readying himself to open the gate. Now you're probably thinking 'nah man, that was just a rag doll example of what going into a gate looks like, that wasn't him actually looking at Lee'. Well, if you proceed to page 11, you can see him posing and bursting into the 1st gate.
Even Neji, a man who's eyes were superior to the Sharingan's was inshock... and it was the first time in the series he ever broke a sweat.
And since, like I said earlier, a mid eperienced 2 tomoe sharingan user could copy Lee's weightless speed... there's no denying that a far more MS experienced user could copy Gai's gate speed... and at the very least, we can assume he's fast as 3rd gate Lee.
