Does the Naruto vs Ninetails battle count?

Why the hell would kishi make the most important battle in the entire Naruto Manga a fake battle?

Should we just disregard everything naruto did in his mind since he didn't do it in the real world?

What do you guys think?

but no you mention it i guess it doesn't count as a fight as it was more like a dream
but he was kinda fighting for his life
it counts as 1/2 a battle =]

I think of it more as a battle of the spirits rather then a mental battle within the mind.....lets be honest if it was a mental battle Naruto would have been roflstomped xD.

So yeah I count it, it shows the fortitude of the spirit.
