No. Toneri couldn't beat BSM Naruto who is below RSM Naruto.

It is probably a comparable power boost. People shouldn't be using Toneri vs. Naruto as evidence that the boost BSM gives is beyond what Tenseigan gives (which is an idiotic notion in itself since one grants something very similar to Six Paths Senjutsu, if not Six Paths Senjutsu itself, and the other is just Kurama with regular Senjutsu) when:

1. We don't know for a fact how strong Base Toneri is, but I'm 99% certain he's not on par with The Last Base Naruto.
2. Regardless of not using RSM, Naruto had Hagoromo's chakra. Thus instead of it being a regular BSM, it'd be a Six Paths empowered BSM. Just like how Base Naruto and Base Sasuke's abilities increased from getting Rikudo's power.

But the thing that is bothering me is

His overall prowess allowed him to fight on par with Naruto

I don't think Naruto is the type of person that plays with his food, especially after he has seen that Toneri split the moon in half right infront of him and he was threatening his friend (Hinata) and to destroy the world.. so if indeed that wasn't RSM then there was clearly something wrong with Naruto's strategy.

It's possible that while he was only in BSM, the chakra potency would be the same as it is when he's at full power (He has Hagoromo's chakra innately, and he was using Kurama's full power), thus his power level is the same minus the extra abilities RSM gives him. Kind of like how Sasuke has Hagoromo's chakra, but all his jutsu get the same boost that Naruto's jutsu get despite Naruto having a mode while Sasuke doesn't.

So in summary, The Last Naruto=RSM Naruto in raw power, minus extra abilities. But I don't know for sure nor am I putting this out there as a fact.

Good point :)

Tbh. Both of them were nerfed in that fight despite how flashy it was.

Toneri can sap chakra from long range fast enough to take your entire reserves in seconds.

Naruto did not use RSM but only BSM.

1. That's speculation, from what we know that mode is BSM. Of course naruto has rikudo chakra meaning all his stats, like sasuke increased. This goes for his lower forms and his base mode. This is one of the reasons why his BSM became so powerful in the movie. Taking kyuubi out of him is a technique that is used with mastery of jinchuriki powers as shown with juubito.

2. Nothing stands against me, naruto blocked toneri's strongest move with one hand if someone did that to you would you think your power and theirs are equal?

I'll be waiting.

About the first notion...i dont actually believe it's RSM either....it is just BSM with full kurama...plus hagoromo's yang chakra

It could and should be argued that full kurama BSM with hagoromo chakra is just as powerful if not even more powerful than RSM naruto used at the end of the manga...henceforth i said it may very well have been RSM

Naruto at the end of manga had 50% kurama and some parts of other beasts....100% kurama compensates for that percentage of other beasts'chakra if not even exceeds it...it is well known that kurama is way above other tailed beasts

Which leads me to this--naruto's BSM in the last was just as if not even more powerful than his previous so called RSM...

Toneri has an amazing potential for destruction...even though naruto hasnt displayed such raw power as when toneri cut the moon i personally believe naruto is capable of such destruction..thus i proclaimed their sheer power as roughly equal...naruto knows how to exact and control his power in a better way which was portrayed when he accumulated his power into his fist and finished him...so i would argue that naruto possesses a clear advantage in terms of skill rather than pure power

About the blockage of that sword...was it explicitly shown that naruto blocked that directly? I have to rewatch it again as i dont recall seeing it at all...is it possible that he simply evaded it somehow?because if he really blocked that the sword would be repelled but instead it cut all the way through...maybe he out blitzed the impact somehow...

All those blue projectiles from toneri were able to destroy naruto's clones(which are durable as hell) very easily so it's strange to think naruto simply took that sword attack directly to the face with no injury as well

Gotta rewatch it
