Kabuto- Ninjutsu/medical-related intelligence
Shikamaru- Tactics
Kakashi- Tactics
Orochimaru- Ninjutsu intelligence
Minato- Tactics and developing jutsus
Itachi- Planning the future, tactics, jutsus, solving mysteries, etc

If we're talking IQ, Shikaku, duh. If we're talking tactics and plans, even Minato is smarter than Itachi. The man had to think about Konoha's political and military power, the threat of Tobi, Tobi's abilities, his son and the prophecy. He then had minutes to formulate a plan. Moreover his plan was a success, unlike Itachi's who had weeks to plan his. Obvious fanboy is obvious.

No s*** Shikamaru has the highest IQ. Yes, Minato had some great tactical feats. And Itachi only had a night to think of what to make of Sasuke's future, not 2 weeks :sy:. Also, Itachi figured out CT and he has never encountered it before. Also, you're an Itachi hater if you deny that he's the overall smartest. And hell yeah I'm an Itachi fanboy, but I'm reasonable and realize when I'm defeated, which I have not been in this argument(defeated that is)

Well, fanboy as in I'm an Itachi fan. I forgot fanboy in this forum means someone who is unreasonable and overrates their favorite character. I am not like that. I know Itachi's limits. For example:

Nagato>Itachi

and so on.

I think most of people here are forgetting Itachi's intentions: Both Itachi and Shisui was disgusted by the Uchiha activities (Shisui asked Itachi to protect the Uchiha name), if their clan went on with the coup they wld be called betrayers and cos heavy loss of life, so Itachi killed all expect Sasuke so that when he grew up and killed him he wld be called the a Hero who got rid of a dangerous S class criminal and as he was ignorant of all the bad past of the Uchiha he will be able to restart his clan with great honour.

I think they both deserve each other. It's really mostly Konoha's fault that everything turned out the way it has. The Uchiha Clan has a part in it too. I like both Itachi and Sasuke. They're two of my favorite.

Yeah the bit sad thing about this is that, Itachi knew Sasuke was going to turn out like this :/ Maybe not entirely but it must have been painful to assume that his Brother was going to turn into a Rouge Ninja that wants to destroy the village that Itachi loves.

yeah but Sasuke is only the mad avenger he is now because Itachi forced that purpose on him. He realized had he been open and honest with Sasuke from the start, things could have been different. Itachi admits he used Sasuke just to have someone judge him for his guilt. Not to mention he made Sasuke suffer brutal psychological torture to make sure he stayed fixated on vengeance. Their story is very tragic but Itachi admits his own fault in it.
