Sasuke is garbage emo tool. He cry, change mind, cry more, change mind again and is nothing but free power after free power. No training since Chidori

I have always disliked Naruto. He was slightly bearable in part one, but then he became this bull-charging peace monger, shoving down his petty ideals down everyone's throat. It's like watching a badly directed French Porn with elaborate visual innuendos. His 'Child of Destiny' status makes his character even less desirable, as this takes Deus Ex Machina to a whole different level and simply works as a devise to reinforce poorly written Shonen cliches.

Naruto is nothing but a Genre Cliche. Everything about him screams redundancy and drabness. I doubt anything can break the Rigor Mortis he introduces when he comes on the panel and launches into one of those of 'friendship is power' and 'love is light' and 'peace is a rainbow bridge, all you have to do is get on and experience the goodness within your gut' speeches, sounding like a blithering idiot. How characters much more intelligent than him are even mildly swayed is beyond me.

I have always loved Sasuke. From the start, he struck me as a different character, not driven by Nationalism and someone with his own ideals. His MS status was the 'pinnacle of Manga writing' in terms of verisimilitude. It was this descent to the maw of madness, which was a stuff of Classical Tragedies - the fall of a noble man through Hamartia. The scene where he lost touch with reality, bleeding from his eyes had such Macbeth like tones. Seriously, never has the manga touched that level of imagery and writing. All that was so real that it actually moved me.

Anyone who states that MS was poor writing need to pick up a decent work of Literature. I don't care if it's opinion - it's a stupendously poor one and I would outright point it out. Sasuke is the only reason why I even bother with this manga. So this should say something.

If you're wondering about conflicts between fans, I have no problem with opinions........ as long as they're founded and logical. Most trolls are from the Sasuke fanbase, so you can imagine how that interacts with my personality that gets irritated when I think something's stupid.
Oh please ...

At first I didn't like Naruto But after a while you just warm up to him. The fact that he never gave up his goal of bringing sasuke back even when everyone else had given up on him, is admirable imo. However this naruto like main character present in every shonen is tiresome. That's why naruto is the last shonen I'll ever watch.

Recently I watch anime like monster, one outs ghost in the shell, hell girl and kurau Phantom memory, darker than black and I've loved them. Even death note and code gaess were shonen but offered different dynamics than regular shonen.
I will admit if wasn't for Sasuke I wouldn't have enjoyed the series nearly as much. Imoh he is one of the best written characters in all anime

Naruto and the first and last shounen I will ever watch. It's legendary for being obscenely bad in terms of writing. Save for Sasuke - as you stated as well - this manga is unbearable. Ghost in the Shell is an excellent choice. You should brush up on your mysticism skills first though, as it heavily borrows from this. I didn't like Death Note because of the huge plot holes though.

I agree on Sasuke's merits as a well written character as well. It's not every day you find a character as wonderfully written as Sasuke.
