First, where does the Bible ever state that just eight people built the Ark? Only eight people were on the Ark and survived the Flood, but this doesn’t mean these were the only people involved in building the structure. Actually, the Bible only mentions Noah as building the Ark (

First they say that it's likely more than 8 people built the ark, however only 8 were able to board it. Excuse me? So Noah just recruited a ton of people to help him and when the flood he was like, "sorry guys, no room." :bdpf:"We'll pray for you though."

Secondly, they even say that the bible says only Noah built the ark. So in this instance it's okay to say, "Alright then, God is probably just f-cking with us. We know it's physically impossible for this man to do this so let's bend the fairy tale a bit more and say he had help." So they're taking the text they take literally on just about everything else, however when it comes to Noah's ark, it's okay to assume he had help even though the bible itself refutes that and says he did it alone? Okay... Lol.

Second, why should we assume that Noah was unskilled in shipbuilding? Moments earlier in his presentation, Mr. Nye stated that “these people were unskilled [and] as far as anybody knows they never built a wooden ship before.” How does Mr. Nye know that they were unskilled or that they had never built a wooden ship? How could anyone know this? Why make such an assumption? The pre-Flood world was destroyed so other than the brief details provided in Scripture, we really can’t be sure what they were capable of building.

This is the same argument as, "prove god doesn't exist". They're blasting Nye for assuming Noah was unskilled but when they have to provide an argument on why he was a skilled ship builder they quickly say the flood destroyed all documents and they don't know his occupation. :bdpf:Bruh...

. Who knows? Perhaps Noah was already a shipbuilder prior to building the Ark. Or as mentioned above, he may have hired a skilled construction crew to build it for him.

So after they just sounded off on Bill Nye for making assumptions, they say the underlined. "We don't know if Noah really was a shipwright or ship builder of any sorts, but why can't he be? I mean, even if he wasn't he could have just hired ship builders anyway. Easy enough." Yes creationists, Noah apparently built the biggest, most structurally sound wooden boat the world has ever seen and you can't even tell whether or not dude was even a ship builder? Then again these are the same people who will use the, "God did it" argument. Bruh...

In my opinion Nye bodied Ham but others will tell you differently and I completely respect that. Bill Nye was definitely more 'charismatic', for lack of a better word.

Bill Nye utterly destroyed Ham. Ham is a bible thumping lunatic, and the fact that he has any sort of influence over anyone is stupid and maniacal. He didn't have a single argument that anyone with a brain would have actually ascertained. He kept trying to split "historical science" and observable science up as some sort of means to combat what Nye was saying, but Nye destroyed every single point Ham said. Ham's only retort was that God did it, so that should tell you who won the debate. What was pathetic was that the majority of the audience was Ham's bible thumping followers and the site of the debate was his "Creation Museum" which is why Ham was getting more audience attention when they clapped. Anyone with above an 80 IQ will notice Nye destroyed him.

Answersingenesis is run by bible thumping idiots like Ham himself. Watch the entire debate and you'll realize that was one of the many points Ham got destroyed on. You can't disprove what Nye said in the video because he's completely right.

Lol good one. That doesn't sound reasonable, true. Bible never specified how big Noah's relatives were, he did have relatives. Only specified Noah's family surviving at the end of the day.

@Bold, I dont remember any scripture that states this "sorry no room but thanks for helping". We have scripture of Noah saying and warning them about that judgement/flood will come and they didn't bother listening. We get further details by Peter's comment on this story:

"19 After being made alive,[d] he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits— 20 to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water,"

The evidence is the story itself. If he wasn't skilled then the ark wouldnt have been complete or God wouldn't have asked him. Constructing 101, isn't a one man team. So theres no reason to believe it was nor does Scripture support the claim.

I shouldn't have start off with this website rebuttal, after researching more on it. It did make a bad start. It has claims I dont support.

I still dont see good reasons not to believe Noah story base on premises.

I agree about the website. And I am not a creationist, so not interested in hearing his debate. But by no means does it prove Nye being remotely right in scripture context.

According to some things I read on the internet and this video, the samples they took from the "boat" are indeed wood and there are traces of metal in some of the samples but scientists said that the wood is too young to be part of the story about "Noah's Ark".

So, I don't know. It's kind of interesting story, if nothing. It's not like you are finding something that looks pretty much as a huge ass boat in the mountain tops. >_>

I am open to hear how you got to that conclusion? As I admitted before, Genesis is a challenging book to read. It was clearly not meant to take everything literally but its main point: That God is the Creator of earth/universe.
