As the title says. Do you believe the Noah's Ark story is literally true or nah? According to some statistic, 60% of the citizens of the US believe the story to be literally true. What do you think?

No i don't the entire story sounds like BS.

So your telling me he had all these animals on one ship and none of them tried to kill each other?

I think there is likely some truth in it but that it has been greatly embellished. The interesting thing is that a lot of mythologies also tell of a great flood, Greek for instance, I know some historians believe that it existed and that it is in some desert that used to be an ocean or something.

or kill him
and where did he find all those animals and when did he find the time do it?

some bible stories have some truth, but are hard to believe
they're probably exaggerated

Noah probably built a small ship and took 2 sheep with him

And that pretty much sums up the atheist camp. lol Not to solo you out, but what you just said is a perfect example as to how the "more intelligent" atheists are incredibly ignorant.

You don't seem to know the story very well.

OT: I know how you think, so there's really no point in giving my two cents. If I say I do believe that it literally happened, then you'll ridicule me. If I say it didn't happen exactly as the Bible says, then you won't say anything. You're just trying to validate your thinking by setting up some sort of straw man argument on an anime forum. No thank you, sir. I'll pass. :)

so how'd the story go?
i thought he made an ark and took lots of animals with him for a long time and there was a flood because too many people were sinning. then the flood dried up and god said there won't be another flood

I don't think the literal story of Noah's Ark is the unvarnished truth.

Read Genesis 6-8. It'll give you more details than I can give, and more accurately, as well. If you still have questions, go to Answers in Genesis' website. :)

Uhg, another one of your types today.

I want to know what makes people believe such a story. It has nothing to do with my religious view. I'm not validating some kind of agenda. I'm actually playing Fast & Furious Legacy on my iPhone Lol. Anyway; why comment at all if you're just going to dodge the question? You could have just not said anything and no one would have questioned you.

I know why you commented though(I'm going to use your broken logic). You felt threatened by my OP and felt the need to defend your religious belief. Instead of discussing the topic, however, you took neutral-aggressive stance by attacking my OP but stating you don't want to talk about. Well let's talk about it? Why not give your 2 cents?

No, but the flood did happen as there's recordings of it throughout different civilizations all around that time period.

I dont see why not. Its covers history of a "great flood". Base on faith, yes I do, I dont see no good reasons NOT to believe God can allow such thing to happen. If I were to reason in this case, I would need to do some research when it comes to interpreting this event. Book of Genesis can be tricky to interpret by casual reading. An example is how I use to think " I have to interpret the world being was made in 7 days according to the Bible", but that end up changing.
