Do you think that Sasuke has surpassed Itachi?

No not as of yet he is nowhere on the same field of intelligence and strategic planning of itachi yet maybe in a few years when he has a chance to cool down and become level headed.

Well, even if he isnt cool hes very good when it comes to planning during the battle. I doubt he was cool when he fought Danzo, yet he trolled him flawlessly. Itachi is smarter, but the difference isnt as great as some people says.

True.but by the looks of it sasuke's iq took a nose dive after finding out the truth of Itachi.
We don't need to know since he would have the same moveset anyway.

Your decision. Personally I liked it becuase it was far better animated than most of the fights in Shippuuden, which is really crappy anime btw. At least animation was fluid for most of the time.i didn't really find that fight interesting

yes i agree with you... itachi is my favorite character but even i can admit sasuke has surpassed him especially when he got EMS. Sasuke has stronger chakra and in more quantity, his stamina is alot better, he acquired EMS, his amaterasu is better, and he is pretty darn close to itachi's intelligence lvl. The only thing that might have itachi win this battle is his totsuka blade but if sasuke finds a way to counter it or just make a good strategy, also genjutsu and tsukuyomi doesnt work on sasuke so i think sasuke can win
He can beat a blind Itachi with Itachi's eyes? come on guys. His abilities are at the level they are because of itachi not because of his own abilities. People fail to understand that if Itachi didnt force Oro out of Sasake before he died Oro would still be inside waiting for the chance to strike. so claiming he can beat itachi would be like beating himself. His (Itachi) power was given, not taken. Itachi, Sasake are now one being, though not one mind.

Ms sasuke has a counter for everything ms itachi has, plus much better stamina, raiton techniques, and kirin.
fire techniques: sasuke
genjutsu: itachi, useless on sasuke
tsukuyomi: backfires on itachi
amaterasu: sasuke is much more able to spam, and has enton
susanoo: itachi, but he can't hold it for long w/o dying. sasuke is able to spam it.
weapons: sasuke matches itachi, and has the ability to channel raiton with his weapons
intelligence: itachi, but he doesn't have any trump cards for sasuke anymore so it's not that big of a factor

Itachi is far from being one of my favourite characters, quite the contrary actually. And I did answer your question, you just don't want to read it.
But the thing is that hypothetical or not the question itself is stupid. "Has Sasuke surpassed Itachi?" - Which Itachi are we talking about? Because to surpass is to compare both and Sasuke coming on top, but you have to know what to compare to. And as EMS does not exist in a same plan as MS Itachi you can not make this comparison. So that must mean you want to compare an Edo MS Itachi to EMS Sasuke and that still leaves Itachi on top.
While if you want to compare if current Sasuke has surpassed what Itachi was able to achieve in life, then the answer is no. Despite the fact that current Sasuke is an addition of his own eyes to Itachi's, Sasuke still has long way to go until he reaches the mastery and experience Itachi had.
EMS grants Sasuke the kunay and Itachi's MS is just a stone. But the master still can beat a kunay with a stone.
None of this analysis fully answers your question, much less the way you wanted, simply because the question was poorly formulated. This comparison is idiotic and like it or not logic works this way. You may not like it but hey!... Live and learn, boy.
