Genjutsu can work, only genjutsu that will have little effect is tsukuyomi, but we know Itachi ahs more
Itachi has better/more skill with the MS tecs/tsukuyomi/amaterasu/susasnoo. Sasuke using it more doesn't make him better.
And Itachi is way faster than Sasuke and extremely more smarter

3t sasuke surpassed itachi in katon.he countered itachi's tsukiyomi with just 3t sharingan
ms sasuke surpassed in amaterasu (when he used blaze release)
i think kirin is the best long range raiton technique. its 2nd best raiton technique overall after 3rd raikage's hellstab.
we never saw itachi doing much with his katon or suiton compared to sasuke.

and EMS > MS anyway, so no questioning about it, current sasuke > ms itachi.

Itachi didn't surpass Itachi in Katon, the only reason Itachi's fire was being push back, was because his illness was getting the better of him after the demon wind shuriken, in which Zetsu pointed out that he was off

Unfortunately, you cannot say ems > ms therefore sasuke has surpassed itachi, when in this scenario its a seasoned ms user and an inexperienced ems user. There are many tools out there and the sharingan can be considered a tool. Just like any other tool its usefulness goes hand in hand with its wielder. Zetsu " an expert with a stone can still beat a novice with a shuriken".

Anyway the kabuto fight showed us that sasuke is still lacking in areas. He hasnt fully surpassed itachi

Of course. Sasuke's superior dojutsu pretty much nullifies everything in Itachi's arsenal. The gap in intelligence isn't as large as some claim either.

I think it would give Sasuke an advantage, but it doesn't nullify Itachi's prowess as a MS user. Itachi is a seasoned and experienced MS user whereas Sasuke is inexperienced EMS user. Itachi would still win, though it would be a close fight i think. If Itachi really wanted Sasuke dead, he WOULD be.
