[Discussion] Do you think SH's will get another ship?

Now back when this started I didn't expect them to replace the Merry and now I don't expect to replace Sunny, but why? We've seen the crew lose a ship once already but it still seems weird to consider it would happen again.

What do you guys think, would Oda do it again or do you think it would become too repetitive of a thing and he'll avoid doing it a 2nd time? I'm on the fence on this one, when Franky explained Adam Wood I thought it was going to be nigh invincible but then it broke a bit so now idk.

It would also be weird to me for a fleet leader to have a ship smaller than the fleet members(Orlumbus) and if you look the Yonkous all have massive ships with three masts while Sunny only has 2. Is the Sunny just too small?

I'm more on the side of them keeping this one 'til the end, but also creating some doubt, curious what the rest of you think or would want to see.

I have never been a fan of the Sunny nor the Merry. It doesnt look badass imo
I hope one day Luffy gets a badass epic looking ship and names it "The Leviathan"

I agree it's a unique ship, everyone comments on it's ability to fly, but that's really just Franky. He could do that with any ship.

Nah. The entire idea of the 1000 Sunny was to be a ship that would carry the future Pirate King and take on the New World. Can't say what might occur in a possible epilogue, but the Sunny will be their ship for the duration of the series. It would only hurt the story if they would change ships regardless of the reason.

No this is the final ship. This is Franky's goal, after all the hype of Adam Wood, Tom building the Oro Jackson and Franky creating this. It would be a slap in his face if the Sunny gets destroyed.

Like Cali said, with the way it is phrased the door is open for Luffy to use another ship after Raftel.

Roger's ship wasn't much bigger was it? Made of the same stuff and all...

With what's been said about about this ship, I don't see them getting rid. Upgrades could be a definite, especially having had Franky seemingly do nothing but carpentry recently... Maybe he has been thinking up new ideas for Sunny.

I just notice some pattern with the series where SH had Merry in East Blue courtesy of Ussop (or fiend of Ussop to be exact) and had Sunny in Grand Line courtesy of Franky (and co.) so what if they get a new ship in the New World?
Also, I noticed that Ussop is the 3rd recruit in EB, and Franky is the 3rd recruit in GL. Ussop invented Clima Tact and upgraded his plants whereas Franky invented the docking system of Sunny so we can consider both Ussop and Franky as inventors.

EAST BLUE
Zoro (swordsman who we can consider a MONSTER in strength)
Nami (Lady navigator)
Ussop (sniper / an INVENTOR)
Sanji (Pervy cook)

NEW WORLD
Chopper (doctor / turns into a MONSTER)
Robin (Lady archeologist)
Franky (shipwright / INVENTOR)
Brook (pervy musician) I mean we all know that his favorite line is "Can I see your undies?"

now what if Luffy recruits another 4 members in New World?
Jimbei (helmsman and a literal MONSTER by appearance) CONFIRMED!
Carrot the mink scout? Tama the beast tamer? or Kiku the samurai for the Lady category?
Ceasar for the inventor category? (he's a scientist anyway)
pervy? can anyone remember that episode where Kinemon and Brook were so envious with Momonosuke who was making face? that bath scene with Robin and Nami hugging him? I mean Momo could be the cabin boy (like Shanks or Buggy in Roger's ship?)

what if Oda follows this pattern and another inventor (cough... Ceasar cough...) joins? Sunny is already a top class ship but can we agree that CC can upgrade the ship (like replace cola with gas, possibly incorporate laser tech of Vegapunk and other gas weapons to the Sunny and more) Also, if anyone who goes to a yonko's territory, we can atleast expect the worst, Big Mom already caused damage to the Sunny, She was literally chewing it IIRC and it was even teased that it was already done for (could it be Oda foreshadowing a future event?) and now they're in Wano, another yonko territory. It's even speculated that BM will follow SH there. What if the damage to the Sunny would be a lot more this time? And wasn't the ship left in a wide open area? two yonkos at the same time?
Also, I have imagined that they could get woods from trees in Elbaf that could even be better than Adam wood probably in an Elbaf Arc?


HOWEVER, I do agree with the fact that getting a new ship will cause conflict on the Thousand Sunny being the representation of Franky's ultimate dream of creating a ship that surpasses thousand seas becoming true.
