You bring up some pretty good points and I agree with you but at the sametime I may have to disagree.
As we see right now Kishi isn't really trying to make Sasuke look like the main villian. I mean sure Sasuke has made some mistakes but not as bad as people like Oro, Tobi, Akatsuki, Kabuto are doing. I mean he doesn't even know about the war with the alliance. Kishi made Naruto into this character that he will get thru to Sasuke and make him realize to get out of the darkness and remove his hatred. I remember Naruto saying to either Jiraiya or Kakashi that whats the point of him becoming Hokage if he cannot save a friend. His talk also with Itachi when he said he will protect/save Sasuke and the village if he has too. This is where we know Sasuke will end up changing his intention. I can see him surviving and helping the alliance which at the end due to him and Naruto they may forgave him or lessen his sentence. The villagers will end up understanding what Sasuke been thru since thats what Jiraiya said that he wishes people can understand one another, thats how most likely the ending maybe by people understanding eachother and peace being spread thru all villages/countries and they form the huge alliance with eachother. We can see right now that they are all working together.
But I think he will end up giving his life for either just Naruto or the alliance, which like you said Inception will be cheesy but at least we can say that Naruto can finally move on and know that he has saved a friend from the darkness, angry and hatred
