Do you think Orochimaru was disappointing?

Imo he was. He was so creepy and threatening in the chunnin exams and during his fight with Hiruzen. After that he was constantly humiliated every time he showed up. Tsunade was swinging him around by his tongue using him as a puncher ball or whatever you call those toys that are like yoyos you punch in the arc directly after. His theme song in the original is goat quality stuff, like I play it in the car for people who think anime is gay and they're like this shit is cool what is it and I'm like Naruto and they're like whaaat. But it was sort of wasted because he turned out to not be all that mysterious and intimidating after all.

this was the height of his creepiness

When people like Madara are bringing down freaking meteors from the heavens, people like orochimaru don't seem so tough anymore.

He was simply overshadowed by the Akatsuki and Project Tsuki no Me but he was always relevant to the story, so no.

Abit. He was the best villian imo and he just kinda became more and more irrelevant. Just more wasted potential in the this manga ):

In Part II yes. He was used, sealed, unsealed, now is an eternal zetsu waiting to be a tree.

Orochimaru is... a weird case. I wouldn't say he was humiliated every time he appeared, though he did get the shaft fairly often to show off another character's power. Against Tsunade, his arms were completely useless, so it's understandable that he got flung around without much difficulty. Afterwards, though, he went on to successfully manipulate Sasuke, fight chakra cloak Naruto without access to his ninjutsu (as confirmed when he unsealed the Kages and his ability to use ninjutsu), manage to nearly take Sasuke's body while on his death bed, return from that death, return from being sealed by the Totsuka Blade, and then survive the events of the series like no other villain, save for Kabuto, could.

That being said, he was poorly used for the most part - it's easier to look back at things and say "oh, that was unimpressive", but once you look back at all the cool things he did you remember that he wasn't such a chump after all. One of the best villains in Naruto - it's just a shame that he also had to be the first. Think of it like Frieza in DBZ - impressive when he first showed up, but then easily dwarfed by the later villains. Maybe Naruto Gaiden will make up for it, though, like the new DBZ movie intends to make Frieza intimidating again.

Well he was a bit sealed off from most of his Jutsu and he was sick and dying for most of his screen time. Due to those conditions, no I'm not disappointed in any performance a Orochimaru gave. No matter what hit Orochimaru took, other than IT which is the most powerful Jutsu ever, in the end he came out perfectly fine.

He was cool when he played with Naruto at the beginning of part 2.Despite being armless,he tempted Naruto to go Kyuubi and went against 4 Tails Naruto for fun.

Well said, but Orochimaru didn't come close to taking control of Sasuke's body.Sasuke negged Orochimaru in his own dimension (Ritual Transfer place).

Orochimaru was creepier than Freiza though, in a more cold hard reality sense, in that he did sick weird shit to children like experimenting on them alive, stealing their faces and bodies, using them as sacrifices, making them fight to death in his dungeon and tricking them, he's like worse than a pedo.
