Do you think Boruto will run for a long time?

Naruto ran for 15 years with 700 chapters, I don't think Boruto is going to be that long, and hopefully it wont take years and years before the battle with Kawakii actuall happens and we know if the old generation really dies, but it seems like it's gonna go for a while and that battle could be an ending of sorts.

20 months and we have only scratched the surface, we have had an ao arc and a rich kid arc kawakii is nowhere to be seen, kara has been introduced but that's it. They could drag out those members forever.
so true. the ao arc hasn't even ended yet. KARA are not the slightest developed. team 10 are nowhere to be seen. it all has been focusing on boruto. so expect arcs for other characters/teams . damn the series will be hella long

The material or the plot isn’t the problem, the problem is it’s slow progression. Your right there have been only 20 chapaters but where your wrong is “only scratching the surface”, imo we haven’t scratched the surface yet. We’ve only seen the surface which is disappointing being that we are 20 chapters into the manga, again there is enough potential to make this a 700 chapter series but over how many years? 20 lol

If Boruto is removed and replaced with Metal Lee, Sarada takes the lead and we get a few cloned Uchiha(Madara sama) around the current gen's age. Then yes it can run for 15 years, at the current rate, style and what's going on 5 at best.

Replacing is equal to elongating in Boruto series. Replace the colour-less MC who is boring and make Sarada the main cast and the series will run for a 30 years minimum.

Not really. The anime is boring and isn't going anywhere. It's been what...about a year and still no progression. Then you have the manga, which is negatively criticized.

-The new techonology is ruining it (Artificial weapons)
-Copy Paste new gen w/ 1 dimensional personalities
-Subpar villains

However, I won't be surprised if it lasts long. I mean look at Dragon Ball Super. The milking will never end even though from what I've seen many fans have dropped this new series.

When it's such a lucrative move to drag it out as much as possible to milk unwitting fans, then it's very likely that it could span for as much as Naruto did. And based on various facts such as the Anime premiering in April 2017 and barely covering the manga that's x10 slower in pace, we could probably have to wait for over a decade to actually see the Kawaki vs. Boruto scene. The manga has been on for 2 years now, hasn't it? And there hasn't even been a major felon to serve as a catalyst to the story. That said, I decipher it'll be another year more before the Anime actually kicks off, then a good decade before the Manga gets to the jist of the story, if the pacing persists.
