The reason the name of the movement is feminism is because historically women have had less rights. However, the movement is not only about the equality of men and women. It also seeks equality for all people regardless of gender. Transmen, transwomen, agender, and gender-fluid people also deserve equal rights. Even if one can make the claim that people have equal legal rights, which they currently don't, society is biased against certain groups.

I'm on my phone, so can't really make a long post. I support gender equality, though it appears there's a thin line between gender equality, and gender differences. It's hard for many people to see that line. There's always going to be biological wiring that has distinctive effects. My support lies mostly in regards to laws and civics.

I am all for Equality of Treatment, which especially needed in Third World Countries and such. But wld never support Equality of Outcome. But what I find more corrosive is that people are eager about equal rights but slinks away when equal responsibility and accountability is brought into the picture.

Modern feminism, hell no. That's nothing but baseless hypocrisy and man-hating venom. Any female today who identifies as a feminist is automatically labeled as a moron in my book.

However, classic feminism is quite respectable and they made gallant strides in equality. I definitely would have supported it had I been alive back then.

I think the classic feminists like movement is now called Egalitarians. It is getting exposure now while more and more women refuse to identify themselves with the louder section of the current Feminist movement.

In the first one, she put down her thoughts rather well imo.

In the second one, I still have to check some of the references and compare it to the analysis of my own observations. Still an interesting read. Interesting articles if anyone's interested.

Oh wow, so many misconceptions. People need to open up their minds and realize this is all conditioning - you've been taught to hate feminism from the media that feeds you this crap.

Watch this:

And of course, privileged dudes are going to feel like somethings being taken away from them when instead the scale is being tipped equally. A lot of people think we have equality now...

I'm not saying feminism doesn't have problematic people, but feminism itself is pretty great. I think it's great to point out problems in the movement, but generalizations don't help anyone. We have the capacity to judge people as individuals - do so.

Doesn't surprise me that the fandom hates Sakura - people on this forum can't even respect real women...
