well some ppl use poetry to explain an experience they had in their life and music is poetry its just expressed with ur voice or instrument. there r many different styles of poetry the is the structured like the reg poetry ppl r familiar with,and haiku, etc. then there is free style, or free style unstructured. with free style reg there is still a structure somewhat to it and you can tell, but there is still a point. all poetry has a point to it, i guess u can say what i write is poetry,but i hav never felt it was. when i write i dont try to be dark but most of the time it turns out so. ive only had afew that havnt been dark, writing for me is a release a chance to let me think about everything goin. my style u can say its a free style stripped meaning i dnt rhyme, dnt keep a set amount of words to a line,and i really dnt follow any other rules so u can say its my own style. check out my i blog and ull see wat mean.
