Reading some posts about this topic from several members lately has really opened my eyes. Orochimaru has hyped Sasuke up so much it's ridiculous, but has he delivered? Stick with me on this.
Itachi -
Kakashi - Graduated the Academy faster than anyone and was a
Minato - Perfected FTG and created new levels of it, called "once in a lifetime genius" by Jiraiya who trained so many powerhouses, was revered by EVERYONE in Konoha as one of the strongest ninja ever, defeated Obito and the Kyuubi by himself while protecting an entire village and looking after his son and wife, created the flawless plan for Gai and the team to attack and damage Juubi Jin Madara, one of the fastest shinobi in history, created the Rasengan.
Tobirama - Created several extremely strong jutsu like ET and Kage Bunshin, started Chunin Exams which all other nations practice, politically one of the smartest Hokage with policies (though he's a bit harsh), was the first person along with Naruto to deduce Juubito's weakness to Senjutsu and instantly sync with Naruto's powers to land the first damage against him while in the company of Minato (and Sasuke, who didn't pick this up until Naruto explained it), defeated MS Izuna (said to be on par with Madara) by himself with a single Hiraishingiri, best fashion sense in the manga.
Orochimaru - Created his own dimension, is effectively immortal, recognized Itachi as the Prodigy of the Uchiha, perfected Edo Tensei jutsu, "
Neji - Mastered the Hyuuga Clan's ultimate technique purely by watching and figuring it out alone, called one of the greatest prodigies of the Hyuuga by his father as well as the clan leader after they saw him in action, perfected his Byakugan to have incredible range and scope, excellent tactician display against Kidomaru using his wit and surroundings, adapted his weaknesses to become strengths, was the absolute favorite of the Chunin Exams until Gaara showed up.
Sasuke can make no claim to ANY of these. He graduated the Academy at 12-13 just like normal kids do, Itachi was Fugaku's favorite who remarked that Itachi's Fireball Jutsu and Shuriken Jutsu were leagues ahead with the constant comparisons at their respective ages, all of his jutsu are handed down versions of other's techniques that he hasn't made by himself (Orochimaru taught Sasuke Kirin and his Chidori variants similar to how Kakashi taught Naruto Rasen-Shuriken, by using their strengths as shinobi and teaching them the basics. Otherwise, if Sasuke knew this shit, why leave the village? He obviously had to learn all those jutsu from somewhere), Pain hyped his eyes up but Pain never saw Itachi's true power. Five Kage Summit, for starters. I don't know of a single genius that would openly attack 5 of the strongest ninja in the world with no plan, no strategy, no escape routes, nothing. He simply walked in, in a berserkers rage, and got his ass handed to him several times. A SMART ninja would have kept his cool and formulated the best way to possible to get to Danzo, not try to steamroll through superior fighters. Then there's the copious handouts which none of the above had as well. Sasuke, in his short 17 years, has been given the
Then there's him declaring to attack Konoha after knowing Itachi died to preserve it WHILE denouncing it in his name, wanting to kill innocent people even though that's exactly what happened to his OWN people earlier. Even Danzo called Sasuke out on this hypocrisy by not caring about the Uchiha sacrifice despite the consequences. He also resurrected Orochimaru which could have turned out BADLY. There was no reason to believe Orochimaru wouldn't use the Edo Hokage against him to steal his body and join the opposition, but plot made Orochimaru into a kitten. Then, despite spending the entirety of the last few years deploring Konoha, even after learning the honest-to-god-truth mind you, he decides after hearing a bedtime story to be the Leader of said village. That is completely in-congruent with all the build up and (arguable) development prior to that point and is why MS Sasuke was so poorly received noted by his standings in the polls at that juncture. It just made Sasuke look... dumb.
I don't know of a single genius that would accept this and still act so high and mighty, as if he really accomplished this through his own "genius" merits nor assert the things he has. This is in no way meant to be a bash post or a Itachi/Kakashi/Minato >>>> Sasuke post, just that his genius hype is only that... unfulfilled hype marred by hypocrisy.
