Well not necessarily heaven and hell (not ruling this out), however, the concept of 'nothing' is just as much of a fairy tail. I believe it may be more logical to believe in the latter, but all the stories about what happens after death is created from us; be it afterlife or no life at all. So my answer is, I'm not against the idea of some type of afterlife.

The problem I have is that no matter what, I always think my dreams are real life. So I would never do anything I wouldn't do in reality. It sucks

it's actully a common misconception. dreams are not the opposite of reality. they are more like an extension. if you are shy around girls in irl then you will be shy next to them in dreams. if you believe you are bad at soccer you will play poorly in dreams.

lucid dreaming is a way of dealing with that actully, become lucid and do all those crazy and scary stuff in a safe enviroment and it will "transfer" to your reaility and you will become more confident *_*

Look death is like birth it has to happen and it is the process of you living your body i.e. like you living your mother scientists
usually do not believe in the soul because they have to idea how to even test it well they might have good ideas but they just do not try like for example i saw a programe once of a man that was trying to discover other dimensions which was intresting he used a light or laser and did something and it was showing the lasers light in three different directions it was weird anywho the soul is connected to the brain and the heart which would explain why they are so emotinal and well the brain is complex it self also when shot in those areas or it is disconeteced you die instantly thats my own thoughts also lucid dreaming or astral projections is nothing but you being concoios of your soul outside your body which occurs when you sleep we just are not concouis.
