Currently, I'm reading again chunin exams arc, and while this question came to my mind: Do ya think Neji was right after all?
Some people seem to be annoyed with his old prick mode cause he was whining too much about fate.

He even pointed that all decided since birth and that hard work would never allow you to reach what you want

And Naruto-kun replied that he was only a crybaby and he him-self was trying to change his "fate", that he would never give up. And its an important moment in the story when Naruto-kun defeated him, proving him that you should never give up on your dreams.
But, lately in the series we have read that Uchiha and Senju were descendents of sage of 6 paths, that Senju and Uzumaki were distant relatives, that Naruto and Nagato are from the same clan (and they both were the child of propehcy), etc. This makes think that Neji was right when he said: "Talent is decided at your birth... you could say that everything is decided when a person is born".
What do ya think?

its hard to say, the only way we would know in my opinion is if we could see a naruto that didnt have the 9 tails or had his parents. he wouldnt have had to go through the stuff that makes him who he is now

No, Man.. People misread that.

Neji was saying basically.. There are those who are born to be Hokages(winners) and failures(Losers). Even better, A loser will always be a loser.

Naruto was basically like.. If you work hard enough, you can change your destiny. You don't have the right to decide someone else destiny.

Now, Itachi says.. Those who become the Hokage are acknowledged not chosen at birth.

Edit: If Naruto didn't train butt off, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be going head to head with those Jinchurikis.

naruto is not uzamaki. he is namikaze. they switched his name for his protection.
Naruto is in the uzumaki blood line which is all that matters and his name wasn't switched as he was never named Namikaze. He was just given his mother's maiden name, which happens often enough in the real world.
Secondly it seems that Fate decided on Naruto before he was born. The Elder Toad Sage had already prophesied concerning him and ultimately Naruto had no choice but to work hard and become the child of destiny. If then Naruto was forced by the vicissitudes of fate there is no reason to believe any other character is immune to the control of fate.

sigh Could anyone tell me what idk does mean? :(
Tazilla 88 you got that one.
Comedydaggers I think that too, but let's face that it's been a while in Naruto manga.
Solo, Neji was saying it cause he thought that winners and losers were already determined to be so and it was nothing to do with it; by extension we can say that Naruto being an Uzumaki and having somewhat some Senju blood in his self was already determined to be the child of prophecy or/and being the hero who had to fight against Tobi.
;( I should have made a poll.

I think Neji was emphasising more about being born with talent and skills not just KG. He was flaming Hinata too and she was born in the Hyuuga clan. Neji was known to be genius and he was looking down on everyone else, especially the ones who lacked talent as a ninja.

What's "KG"? Seriously, I'm really slow with abbreviations. Umm... It's true the last you said, Neji was known to be genius but he still thought that he him self had a unchancheble fate to follow cause of his birth (Meaning that although he was blessed with talent he was cursed to be in cage, same goes for Hinata, he said that she was suffering the curse of bear a burden she could no stand because of hers birth). Pointing clans was because it supposedly had a lot to do with talent. Besides Kishi's latest argument to explain Uchiha clan's history us that most of them are cursed to chose a path of hatred.
P.D And why you didn't bother in explaining me what idk means??!

Considering that I don't believe in things such as fate and destiny, no, I do not think he was right.

That was just something he told himself to cope with reality. As Naruto said, he didn't even seem to believe in it himself.

I didn't ask if Neji believed, i asked if was right after all (To be close to reality there's no need to believe what you're saying). But thanks for comment without abbreviations.xd

well its true? if your born dumb what can you do get smart lol
? What you mean by dumb? All babies are silly and defenseless... How could you possibly now if they're dumb or smart when their brain it's not even complete!? Unless you mean down child, in wich case they cannot overcome.
On the other hand... they're too many things that are considered smart or dumb, that I don't know what you mean.
